Should I choose an Amazon wishlist or a dedicated baby registry site?

Im 24 weeks along and totally spiraling about where to list everything. I was looking at Babylist because you can link from any store which sounds great since we really need specific space-saving gear for our tiny one bedroom place in Seattle but then I saw a bunch of reviews saying their shipping is a total nightmare and the tracking never works right.

So my logic was maybe just do a basic Amazon wishlist? Everyone has Prime and it is easy but I read they dont always handle the group gifting well for the expensive stuff like the stroller and I am just so anxious about people buying the wrong things if the interface is messy. I saw one site say Amazon is best for deals but then another post said their registry returns are a huge headache... what do people actually prefer?

Unfortunately, the cross-platform syncing on those universal sites was way buggier than I expected. When I tried it, the API latency was terrible and data integrity suffered, leading to double-purchases because the status didnt update in real-time... super frustrating. Cost-wise, you also lose out on those specific store-brand rewards which adds up. How much are you looking to spend on big-ticket items? Are you prioritizing weight specs or foldability for the stroller?

I totally agree with the previous point about sticking with Amazon. Using them for my last two babies was great and I was really satisfied with how reliable the system is compared to third-party sites. When you're in a tight Seattle apartment, you dont have room for shipping errors. One thing people miss is that Amazons group gifting is actually super clean... it basically creates a dedicated fund for big items, so you dont have to worry about the logistics of multiple people trying to buy one stroller. It was great to find a browser extension that lets you share Amazon Wishlist items from any other website anyway. That tool works just like Babylist but you keep the better return policy and tracking. Its definitely the safer bet if you're feeling anxious about the tech failing. Let me know if you need more info on how that works!

Stick to an Amazon registry. In my experience, that completion discount saves tons of cash and their returns are way easier than dealing with Babylists shipping nightmares when gear doesnt fit the apartment.
