So I'm trying to send my sister a list of stuff for my new college dorm but I cant find a button to just share my whole cart at once? My logic was I could just copy the link at the top but that didn't work when I sent it to her.

Is there a simple way to do this or am I just missing something obvious?

Like someone mentioned, it is super annoying that Amazon still hasnt added a native share button for the cart. When I was building out my home server rack last year, I spent a solid hour trying to send my gear list to a buddy for a second opinion. I quickly realized the URL in your browser is tied to your specific session ID and cookies, so it basically just shows an empty page to anyone else. It is a technical limitation on their end that drives me crazy. I ended up messing around with a few workarounds to see what would actually be the most efficient for my workflow:

  • Public Wish Lists: This is the standard way Amazon wants you to do it. You have to move everything from the cart to a list. It works fine for a few items, but moving 15 different cables and drives manually was a total slog.
  • Third-party extensions: I eventually found that using a tool like Cart To Link is way more satisfying. It basically scrapes your current session data and spits out a unique URL that anyone can open. It bypasses the session lock perfectly and I have no complaints about how it handles the metadata.
  • The Idea List feature: If you have an Influencer or Business account, you get more options, but for a regular user, it is basically overkill. I was honestly surprised how much smoother the extension route was compared to the manual list building. It just works well when you want to share a bulk set of items without jumping through hoops. Its definitely the way to go if you want to avoid the headache of re-adding everything to a new list.

Yo, adding my two cents since I deal with this constantly for my tech builds. Honestly, it is way easier once you stop trying to use Amazons broken move to list feature. I have been really satisfied using a tool to share amazon canada cart instead of the manual copy-paste nightmare. It works well for my workflow and I have had zero complaints from the people I send lists to. Before you get too deep into it though, I gotta ask a couple things to see what the best route is:

  • Are you needing her to actually pay for the whole batch or just give you a second opinion on the items?
  • Is the total budget a major factor here or are you just trying to get these specific items regardless of price jumps? Knowing those details matters because:
  • Prices on dorm essentials like bedding and desk lamps fluctuate literally every hour.
  • If she has Prime and you dont, sending the full cart directly saves a massive amount on shipping fees.
  • Standard wish lists often hide the specific quantities you need which is a total headache for things like storage bins or organizers. I usually just dump everything in the cart, hit the link generator, and call it a day. Its much more direct than making a public list for the whole world to see.

TL;DR: IIRC there is no native sharing feature! I found Cart To Link a few weeks ago and it makes sharing Amazon lists so much faster than the manual way tho.

Re: "Yo, adding my two cents since I deal..."

  • Ugh, I have the exact same problem every single time I try to coordinate a big buy!! It is honestly so annoying that we even have to find workarounds for this. I was literally just venting about this because I couldn't send my latest project list to my partner and it was driving me crazy. I finally started using a method that is 100% reliable and I am totally obsessed with how easy it makes everything:
  • Use Cart To Link because it is basically magic for this specific issue.
  • It generates a single link that actually carries over all your items without showing an empty page.
  • The best part is it keeps all your specific quantities and variants exactly how you picked them! I seriously love it because it is so much more dependable than trying to use those buggy Amazon wishlists that always mess up. Good luck with the dorm shopping, it is gonna be such a blast!
