Is there a way to merge Amazon carts from two different users?

So my boyfriend and I are trying to plan this big camping trip for next weekend up at Yosemite and we both have been like obsessively adding stuff to our Amazon carts for the last three days. It started with just a tent but now we have like portable stoves and those weird sleeping pad things and a bunch of bug spray. The thing is he has his own account and I have mine and we both have like 15 things in our carts right now and its getting kind of out of hand.

I feel like such a dummy asking this because I am literally the least tech-savvy person ever but is there a way to just like... smash the carts together? I have Prime on my account because I pay for the student version still but he doesnt have it so we want to buy everything through mine to get the free shipping and the faster delivery since we are leaving on Friday. I really dont want to have to go through his phone and search for every single item one by one on my phone because that sounds like itll take forever and I will probably end up getting the wrong brand or the wrong size or something. We are trying to keep the whole budget under $350 and right now his cart is like $120 and mine is almost $200.

I looked all over the settings and I saw something about a wedding registry or a list but I dont know if that is actually what I need? I am super confused by the layout honestly it just feels like there are buttons everywhere. Every time I try to search for how to do this I just get ads for stuff I already bought or it talks about Business accounts which I definitely dont have. Is there some kind of magic link he can send me that just dumps his stuff into my cart so I can pay for it all at once? Or maybe like a family sharing thing?

Sorry if this is a really basic thing that everyone knows how to do and I am just being slow. I just usually only buy one thing at a time like a book or some socks and call it a day. If I have to do it manually I guess I will but I was really hoping there was a merge button I was missing somewhere...

Amazon doesnt have a native merge button for separate accounts because of how they handle session security. I would suggest being cautious about sharing logins too since that can trigger a lock on your account. Heres what you should try to get those camping supplies by Friday:

  • Use Cart To Link to bridge the gap. It basically turns his whole cart into a single link that you can import into your account. Its way faster than manual searching and keeps the brand names exact.
  • Have him move his stuff to a public Wish List and send you the link. You can add items from there, but double check the specific sizes because lists can be buggy with product variations.
  • Be careful with the budget. Taxes are added at the very end, so if you're at $320 now, youre gonna hit $350 fast. Check the delivery dates on every item before paying. If one item is late, it might delay the whole shipment if you choose consolidated shipping at checkout.

Honestly, it’s so frustrating that Amazon hasn’t made a merge button yet. I’ve spent years buying gear for mountain treks and I had this exact same issue last summer when planning a group hike. It was a total nightmare trying to coordinate and we actually ended up with extra stoves because we couldn't see each others carts in real time. It really feels like they make it harder than it needs to be for no reason... Since you can't just smash the carts together, here are two quick ways to fix it:

  • Have him move his cart items to a List and hit the Invite button so you can access them and add them to your Prime order.
  • Create a shared Camping list on your account and send him the link so he can drop his specific brands and sizes directly into your view. It is definitely not as smooth as it should be, but those lists are basically the only workaround for Yosemite!
