Are there any reliable browser extensions for monitoring eBay price drops?

I've been trying to find a solid price tracker for eBay because I'm on the hunt for a vintage Nikon F3 camera body and I really want to stay under $200. I saw some people talking about WatchCount but the site looks like it hasnt been updated since 2005 so im kinda skeptical. Also checked out Auction Sieve but it seems way too complicated for what I need.

Im looking for something that:

  • works on Chrome
  • gives instant notifications when a price drops on my watchlist
  • doesnt require a monthly sub

Does anyone actually use an extension that works reliably? Most of the ones I find are just for Amazon and it's driving me crazy...

@Reply #1 - good point! Honestly, for that $200 budget, just stick with the official eBay app alerts. They're amazing, totally free, and way more reliable than any buggy Chrome extension!

TL;DR: Honestly, most eBay-specific extensions are kinda buggy because eBay keeps changing their API. Your best bet is usually a mix of saved searches and a third-party tracker, but be careful with anything that asks for your full login details. Yeah, WatchCount is a total relic and honestly feels super glitchy nowadays. I totally get the frustration with everything being Amazon-focused... it feels like eBay gets no love from devs. For a Nikon F3 under 200 bucks, you gotta be incredibly fast because those sell in minutes if they are in decent shape. One thing to consider is that price drops on eBay usually only happen for Buy It Now items where the seller gets desperate. I would suggest setting up a Saved Search on the mobile app first. It is not always instant, sometimes there is a 15-minute lag, but it is the most stable option. If you really want a browser tool, you might want to consider checking out Price Before. It has an eBay section that works okay, but make sure to double-check if it is actually pulling live data for your specific region. Also, be careful with some of those free extensions. If they aren't charging a sub, they might be scraping your browsing data or injecting weird affiliate links into your sessions. I have been hunting vintage gear for years and setting a price ceiling on a saved search is usually the only way to beat the resellers. Actually, PriceDropCatch is pretty solid because you dont even need to make an account to use it.
