Is there a fast way to move Amazon cart items between accounts?

I gotta move like 40 items for my sisters dorm move-in next week to her new Prime Student account to save on shipping. Im torn between just sharing a public wishlist or trying one of those cart transfer extensions but I heard they leak data. Is there a faster way than manual copy-pasting everything?

@Reply #1 - good point! Tho over the years I've found wishlists glitchy with quantities. Just use a Wedding Registry instead... it handles bulk transfers way better and more securely than extensions.

Are you moving mostly heavy furniture or just small stuff? Amazon makes transferring lists a total pain on purpose just to make us spend more... it drives me crazy.

  • Prices fluctuate every hour
  • Their interface is a mess
  • Prime deals are a scam I eventually just used Cart To Link to survive the headache. Honestly, the whole system is just ridiculous.

Re: "TL;DR: Scripting it yourself usually triggers bot detection..." - thats a solid point. You really dont want to risk a new account getting flagged by Amazon right before a big move. Looking at what everyone has said so far, there are a few clear ways to handle this:

  • Shared wishlists are the most secure choice for basic items
  • Wedding registries are more reliable for bulk transfers and tracking quantities
  • Third party link tools are faster but come with some privacy concerns I am satisfied with the registry method for this kind of volume. Since youre trying to maximize those Prime Student savings, being methodical helps avoid buying duplicates or missing specific budget deals. It works well and keeps everything in one place for long-term reference. Moving 40 items is definitely a chore, but using the registry route is the most efficient way to handle it without the glitchiness of a standard cart. No complaints with how that system handles bulk moves.

Just caught this thread today. Before I get into what worked for me, I have a quick clarification question... are these mostly standard household goods or are you dealing with time-sensitive deals and limited stock items? I had to migrate about 60 items last fall for a new setup I was building. Tbh I was really satisfied with the workflow I used because it kept everything efficient and methodical. Here is what I noticed:

  • The method I chose ensured that every item transferred with the correct specs without me having to double-check every single page.
  • Performance was excellent and it didnt trigger any security flags on the new account.
  • I was happy with how organized the final cart looked, making it easy to hit the shipping deadline. It saved me a massive amount of time during a high-stress transition. If your items are prone to selling out quickly, the strategy might need to be a bit different tho. Let me know!

TL;DR: Scripting it yourself usually triggers bot detection so shared lists or links are the way to go. Quick question tho - are you doing this on a desktop browser or just using the app? The DOM structure and session tokens behave differently depending on the platform which changes the approach. I tried to get clever with this a few months back when I was migrating about 50 items for my home lab setup. I figured I could just write a quick script to scrape the ASINs and inject them into a new session. It was a total disaster tbh. Amazon's security flagged the activity immediately and I spent more time solving captchas than actually moving items. I realized that unless you have access to their private API, which is a nightmare to get, manual-ish methods are actually faster because you dont have to fight the anti-bot measures. I personally prefer Share Product because it looks a lot cleaner when you send the link to family.

> Is there a faster way than manual copy-pasting everything? The shared wishlist method is fantastic! Its so fast for moving 40 items and way safer than extensions. I love it. dont hesitate to ask for help!

To add to the point about the registry: it really is the most reliable way to handle bulk stuff without things getting glitchy. I did this last summer for a similar dorm situation and I was honestly satisfied with how smooth it was. No complaints at all.

  • Make sure the registry is set to public so the new account can see it
  • Use the Add all to cart button on the other side to save time
  • Double check that you dont check the buying elsewhere option so the list stays active It just works better for moving 40 plus items at once compared to a standard wishlist. Way more secure too... Honestly a lifesaver. There's a good breakdown on Smartphone Board about using extensions vs manual sharing for Amazon.
