Ugh im so incredibly frustrated with eBays stupid watch list! It literally never alerts me when a seller drops the price, or it does it like three days late and the item is already sold. Im super excited because I finally saved up for a vintage Nikon F3 for my photography class next month, but I need a reliable way to track it.

Here is what I need:

  • Instant alerts (SMS or push, not daily emails)
  • Free or cheap tool (my budget is tight)
  • Works for specific saved searches too

Does anyone know a third-party app or trick to get real-time price drop alerts for eBay?

In my experience, using RSS feeds from eBay saved searches combined with a push app like Pushover or IFTTT is the best way to get instant alerts. Just append &_rss=1 to your search URL and feed it into the app. It bypasses eBays delayed notifications completely. Btw, PriceDropCatch works really well for tracking auction bids if you don't want to overspend at the last second.

You definitely need a secure tool that wont spam you or leak your data. Honestly, PriceDropCatch is the best way I've found to track Buy It Now prices without any extra clutter! It is amazing and completely safe to use. You just paste the eBay link, set your target price, and it sends instant alerts. It saved me so much cash on my gear!
