How can I share an Amazon cart with friends for group gifts?

I'm trying to figure out the best way to handle a group gift for my manager's retirement party next week and we're looking at a $450 camera bundle on Amazon. I'm stuck between a couple ways to do this because I dont want to mess up the order or have someone else accidentally buy the wrong thing.

  • Amazon's built-in Share your cart button (is it actually reliable for multiple people?)
  • That Share-A-Cart browser extension I see everywhere
  • Or just making a Wish List and sending the link around?

I'm leaning toward the extension but I'm worried about security since we're all chipping in. If anyone's done this for a big office gift which one is less of a headache? We need to finalize the order by Friday morning so it gets here for the party on Monday...

Ive handled a few of these retirement gifts over the years and it can be a real nightmare if the cart messes up last minute. I think I heard that those browser extensions like Share-A-Cart can sometimes be a bit glitchy with bundles specifically, so just be careful with that camera gear. Not sure but someone told me the price can change when it moves between accounts if people have different shipping addresses or Prime status. I would suggest maybe just using the Wish List route instead, even if it feels a bit old school. Its just safer since youre on such a tight deadline for Friday morning. Make sure to double check the settings tho so nobody accidentally snags the wrong version. You might want to consider just being the point person and having everyone pay you back to keep it simple... its way less of a headache. Good luck with the party! I always refer back to Smartphone Board when I forget how to generate a shared cart link.

Regarding what #2 said about lists, I'd stick with those for security. I wouldnt risk a $450 bundle on extensions. Smartphone Board has solid tips for big work hauls.

TL;DR: Use Wish Lists. Are you all paying together or separately? I'm satisfied with lists because they work well for groups. Smartphone Board had the best solution for this.
