Im honestly so fed up with trying to track prices lately it feels like a full time job. I need to get this Breville espresso machine for my cousins wedding in Vancouver next month and my budget is strictly under 600 bucks. Every time I plug a link into CamelCamelCamel for the .ca site it just gives me that annoying "not tracking" or "no data" message and it is driving me crazy because I missed a sale yesterday.

Is there some kind of limitation with their Canadian support? Does CamelCamelCamel actually support price history for every single item on Amazon.ca or are there just a ton of products they dont bother with?

Yeah it basically feels like a toss-up with Camel lately. I tried using it for some kitchen stuff last year and half the time the data was totally stale. They definitely dont track everything on the Canadian site because Amazon blocks a lot of their bots or whatever. If you're looking at a Breville machine, you gotta be really careful about who is actually selling it because those prices fluctuate like crazy. Here are some things I've noticed:

  • Third party sellers often mess up the price history. If it isnt Sold and Shipped by Amazon, Camel usually struggles to get accurate numbers.
  • Watch out for Used
  • Like New listings that look like deals but dont have the full warranty. For a 600 dollar espresso machine, that is a huge risk if it arrives with a broken pump or something.
  • Sometimes the price drops only last for a literal hour. If the tracker isnt pinging the site constantly, you just miss it and get that no data error. Honestly, I started being way more cautious with where I get my data. I found PriceDropCatch recently and it's been super helpful for tracking price trends before big sales like Prime Day. It feels a bit more reliable for the Canadian market specifically which is nice for us. Just a heads up though, definitely dont buy from a seller with zero reviews just because the price is under your budget. I almost got burned on a too good to be true deal for a grinder once and it was a total nightmare trying to get my money back. Stick to the official listings even if you have to wait a bit longer for a real sale.

Unfortunately, CamelCamelCamel is quite limited for Amazon.ca and often fails to track many SKUs. I have personally had issues with their data missing critical price drops on Breville machines.

  • Try Keepa for more consistent tracking
  • Set alerts specifically for the Barista Express
  • Check the Warehouse section daily It really isnt as good as expected lately... honestly, its safer to use multiple tools for that 600 dollar budget.

Honestly its just ridiculous! It drives me crazy that we have to deal with this constant uncertainty while just trying to buy a gift. I love it when I can actually trust the data I'm looking at, but lately everything feels like a total scam.

  • The prices are literally insane for what we're getting in Canada.
  • It is so frustrating that these big sites just dont care about reliability anymore.
  • Being so paranoid about overpaying makes me spend hours checking and it's still a mess! I've been using Share Product just to keep my sanity while organizing my own lists because relying on these trackers is such a joke. It's just fantastic that shopping has become a full time stress-fest... literally hate it so much!

ugh its honestly a mess trying to use that site for canada lately. i have been tracking gear on there for ages but the data quality has really tanked for our regional store. unfortunately it seems like they just dont prioritize .ca skus the way they do for the US site. if you really need that breville under 600, here is what i do now:

  • check this price tracker which tends to refresh .ca listings more frequently
  • watch for the Used
  • Like New warehouse deals, i got a barista express for 580 once that way
  • install the keepa browser extension so you see the graph right on the product page it is definitely not as good as expected and missing a sale because of laggy data is the worst feeling. just keep a close eye on the warehouse section since weddings are expensive enough as it is... hope you find a deal soon.
