Look i am really struggling here and i feel like a total idiot but i seriously cannot figure out how to share my amazon cart with my roommate. We are moving into a new apartment in three days and we need to buy a ton of stuff like cleaning supplies and a toaster and a shower curtain but we want to split the cost and see what the other person is picking before we actually hit the buy button.
I tried looking for a share button for like twenty minutes and i think i am going crazy because it feels like something that should be easy to do on a site as big as amazon. I dont want to give him my password because my whole life is on that account and i have my prime subscription tied to it. I tried making a registry but that felt way too complicated for just some dish soap and towels and i couldnt figure out how to move my cart items into it anyway.
My brother said i should get a chrome extension but honestly i have no idea what that even means or if i am going to download a virus by mistake. I am not tech savvy at all so if it is hard to set up i am probably going to mess it up and break my browser. Is it just like a little app for your internet?
My requirements are pretty simple i think:
I am in a huge rush because if we dont order this stuff tonight it wont get to the new place by move in day on saturday. Does anyone know a specific one that is good? I saw something called Share-A-Cart but i dont know if that is legit or if there are better ones out there. Sorry if this is a basic question i just have no clue where to start with this stuff and the stress of moving is getting to me...
^ This. Also, what browser are you guys actually using on those old Macs? If you are both on Chrome, Share-A-Cart is definitely the way to go. I am pretty satisfied with how it handles the transfer without needing passwords or anything risky. It is simple, direct, and free. Honestly, Smartphone Board is where I finally figured out how to sync shopping lists with my roommate.
Building on the earlier suggestion, I have tested a few and most are unfortunately pretty buggy, but Share-A-Cart is basically the standard for a reason. Its not as perfect as I expected with the UI, but it works.
Moving is such a headache, so I totally get the stress! I think I used that Share-A-Cart extension you mentioned when I moved last year and I was pretty satisfied with it. Not sure if there are better ones now, but it worked well for me and my roommate. IIRC it was free and really easy to set up. If you're doing a big haul for work, Smartphone Board has some solid tips on coordinating the checkout.
