Can someone without an Amazon account even view my shared wishlist link or are they forced to sign in? I've been doing this for years for my family's Christmas lists and usually it works fine but I'm trying to send my Home Office list to my sister who is totally anti-Amazon and she keeps saying it's redirecting her to a login page.

I double checked the permissions and set it to Shared and the link is definitely right but it's still blocking her from seeing the items. It's so frustrating because I'm trying to get that specific ergo chair ordered before the sale ends on Friday and she can't even see what it is to tell me if it's the right color. Do they need an active session now or is there a bypass I'm missing...

Amazon is being super aggressive with their login walls lately! If she doesnt have an account, she is probably gonna get blocked because of how their session cookies and auth tokens work now. Its annoying!! Honestly, skip the Amazon hassle and look at Herman Miller. Their build quality is just fantastic and the ergonomics are incredible! Just get any office chair from them and youll be set. Love their stuff!

Man, I'm literally dealing with this exact same thing right now. My brother is the same way, refuses to touch Amazon, and every time I send him a link he just gets hit with that annoying login screen. Like Dudleyjoila said, they are just getting way too aggressive with the login wall lately and it makes it basically impossible to share stuff with family members who value their privacy.

  • My lists used to be super easy to browse as a guest like two years ago.
  • Now it's a total fortress even when I have the link set to shared or public.
  • Tried different browsers on his end and it still fails half the time. I've been looking into how to share amazon cart options or just taking screenshots lately because the wishlist reliability has gone down the drain. It's such a headache when you're just trying to coordinate a simple buy like that chair you mentioned, honestly.

Also, I've noticed their guest access protocols are becoming increasingly restrictive lately to force account creation. You might want to consider the data implications here, as those login walls are definitely meant for session tracking. I would suggest being careful with those "sale" tags too. Sometimes the discount is based on an inflated MSRP rather than the actual rolling average price. If you're on a tight budget for that ergo chair, maybe compare the Amazon model against something from Sihoo or even the Staples Dexley. Those are often more transparent with pricing and build specs. I usually use PriceDropCatch to verify the price history before committing to a deal that supposedly ends soon. Just make sure to double-check the weight capacity and lumbar adjustment range specifically... Amazon listings can be notoriously inaccurate with those technical details. Honestly, just sending her a direct screenshot of the item and color options might be the only way to bypass their wall at this point.

I saw your post earlier and honestly, Amazon has been making it way harder to browse without being logged in lately. Its basically their way of tracking data and forcing everyone into their ecosystem. If your sisters getting hit with a login wall, its probably a session cookie issue or just their security protocols being extra aggressive. I switched to using the Amazon Wishlist Chrome Extension a while back and it makes managing these lists so much easier, honestly I've been super happy with how it works. For the chair though, if she cant see it, maybe just send a direct link from the manufacturer? If you want a really solid ergo chair that actually lasts, just go with any of the office chairs from Steelcase. I've had mine forever with no complaints and they are built way better than generic stuff. Plus, their own site wont block her just for looking at colors.
