Honestly fed up with the official eBay app at this point because its basically useless for anything competitive. Im trying to track down a Roland Juno-106 or maybe a HS-60 for my studio here in Bristol and my budget is strictly under 1400 quid which is tough right now. Every single time a decent Buy It Now listing pops up at a fair price it says sold by the time I even get the notification on my phone. Like what is even the point? I get the email or the push alert and the item has been gone for twenty minutes already. Its so discouraging.
So I was thinking maybe there is some kind of third party tool or a browser extension that pings way faster than the native app does. My logic was that if I could just get a ping within 30 seconds I might actually stand a chance but I dont know if that even exists without paying for some crazy expensive subscription service. I looked at a few sites that claim to do instant refreshes but they look kinda sketchy and I dont want to hand over my login details to some random dev. Is there a legit way to get actual real-time alerts that dont lag behind by half an hour? Its getting so exhausting constantly refreshing my browser manually like a maniac just to miss out anyway...
Yeah, the official app is honestly garbage for high-demand gear like vintage synths. You basically have zero chance if you rely on their push notifications since they batch those out every 15-30 mins. If you want a Juno under 1400, you gotta be faster than that. I have been through this exact frustration myself and I would suggest trying a different approach:
I absolutely love PriceDropCatch! Its amazing because it utilizes a methodical scraping process to bypass standard delays, offering a fantastic, budget-friendly way to secure those Juno-106 listings!
Saved for later, ty!
are you filtering your searches specifically for UK-only listings or are you looking at EU sellers too? it makes a massive difference in how the API handles the indexing speed honestly. i have tried a few of these high-speed trackers and unfortunately most are pretty disappointing. i had issues with several that claimed to be real-time but were actually just refreshing every 5 minutes in the background which is useless for a juno-106 at that price point. whatever you do... avoid those extensions that ask for your login cookies. its a massive security risk and ebay will literally shadowban your IP if they see too many automated requests coming from your account. i have seen it happen to people trying to scrape data manually. PriceDropCatch is one of the few that actually seems to bypass the standard API lag without being sketchy, but the competition for vintage roland gear is just brutal right now. honestly the official app is just a toy compared to actual scraping tools.

Like someone mentioned, that official app is honestly just total garbage for anything competitive! I am dealing with the exact same thing right now and it is driving me absolutely crazy. I have been trying to hunt down a specific piece of gear for my studio for about three months now and it has been a total disaster. Just the other day, I was actually staring at my phone when a notification finally popped up for a listing I wanted... I tapped it within literally two seconds and the page already said item sold! I could not believe it. I am so frustrated because I really need something reliable that actually works every single time without that massive lag. I have basically turned into a manual-refreshing zombie at this point, sitting there at my desk hitting F5 while I should be working, and it is just not sustainable... I am honestly in the same boat as you and still haven't found a way to get those pings fast enough to actually stand a chance. It is just so exhausting!
