What is the expected release date and pre-orders of the Sony WH-1000XM6? I've heard rumors about a summer 2025 launch, but is there any confirmation on when we might be able to pre-order them? Any insights on pricing or features would also be appreciated!

Like someone mentioned, summer 2025 is the most likely window based on Sony's usual refresh cycle getting pushed back. I would suggest being careful with the hype tho... usually the first batch of any new flagship has some firmware bugs, especially with the ANC calibration and multipoint switching. If you're worried about reliability, keep in mind that the Sony WH-1000XM5 Wireless Noise Canceling Headphones have had plenty of time to get their software sorted. We might see the XM6 launch at a higher price point, probably around 400 or 450 bucks, so keep that in mind for your budget. A few things I'm looking for in the specs:
- Better support for Bluetooth LE Audio and the LC3 codec
- Improved hinge design because the current one feels a bit flimsy for long-term use
- A more efficient processor to push battery life past the 30-hour mark Make sure to check out the Bose QuietComfort Ultra Headphones if you need something sooner. They're super solid and you wont have to wait another year for a maybe release date. Tbh, unless they do something crazy with the driver materials, the current gen is still plenty good for most people.

Tbh waiting for the XM6 feels like a trap. Prices just keep climbing and honestly the build quality on the last few launches was kinda disappointing for what you pay. I wouldnt be surprised if they push it back to late 2025 or even early 2026 just to milk the current sales. Everything is getting so overpriced these days and the new features probably wont even be that much better.

- hunting for refurb deals
- avoiding the hype train altogether It reminds me of last month when I tried to save money by fixing my own car door handle. I watched one video and thought I was a pro, but I ended up locking myself inside the garage for two hours because the latch jammed. Had to wait for my neighbor to come home so I could yell through the window for help. It was super embarrassing and I still havent fixed the handle. Anyway lol sorry kinda went off topic there.
