Which external monitors and cages work best for the Sony FX3?

I just got this Sony FX3 because everyone said it's the best but honestly I am so lost. The screen on the back is so tiny I can barely see if things are in focus when I'm filming my cousins wedding next month in Chicago and I'm starting to panic. I tried looking up monitors but there are so many brands and I don't even know what the difference is between a monitor that records and just a plain screen. Like do I need it to record or does the camera handle all that? I'm so confused. And then people keep saying I need a cage to actually hold the monitor but then I see some that are half cages and some that are full cages and I don't want to block the buttons or the handle thing on top. My logic was just to buy the cheapest thing on Amazon but then I worried it would fall off or break my camera or something. I have like 500 bucks left in my budget after buying the lens and I'm really freaking out because I don't want to mess this up. Is there like a kit that just works together? I see brands like SmallRig and Tilta but then people talk about Ninja V and I dont know if that's overkill. Sorry if this is a dumb question but I literally have no idea where to start and the more I read the more I feel like I'm drowning in gear talk...

Regarding what #2 said about the handle, I would actually suggest avoiding a recorder. A Ninja V is overkill and adds too much weight for a wedding. I recommend a simple Portkeys PT6 5.2-inch 4K HDMI Monitor instead. Pair it with the SmallRig 3277B Half Cage for Sony FX3 to keep the grip clear. Just make sure you buy a high-quality Kondor Blue High Speed HDMI Cable so your signal doesnt drop out during the ceremony.

Regarding what #1 said about "> I dont want to block the buttons...", keeping that top handle accessible is non-negotiable for wedding audio. In my experience, rigs get messy fast if you arent careful. I need to clarify a couple things first:

  • Will you be shooting handheld mostly or on a tripod?
  • Do you actually need to record to the monitor, or do you just need a bigger screen for focus?
