Must-have travel accessories for the Sony a7 IV and a7C II?

I am literally tearing my hair out trying to pack for this three-week trek through Vietnam and Thailand in ten days and everything feels like a total disaster right now. I bought the a7 IV last year for my main work but then I grabbed the a7C II specifically for this trip thinking it would be my lightweight street setup, but now I am realizing that carrying two bodies plus my lenses is a complete logistic nightmare. I have about $400 left in my budget after dropping a fortune on the glass and I just cant figure out the best way to carry and power these things without breaking my back or my bank account.

The main issue is the bag. I am staring at the Peak Design Everyday Backpack 20L vs the Wandrd PRVKE 21L and I just cant decide which is actually better for someone swapping between two different sized bodies all day. The Peak Design looks sleek but I have heard the straps start to dig in after a few hours of walking and the Wandrd seems more rugged but it looks like a giant box on your back and I am worried about it being too bulky for local buses. Is the side access on the PD actually worth the potential back pain or should I go with the Wandrd for the extra protection?

Then there is the battery situation because the a7 IV is a total power hog when I am shooting 4K video. Im stuck between just sucking it up and buying the official Sony BC-ZD1 dual charger which is crazy expensive for what it is or getting that Nitecore USN4 Pro since its way smaller and runs off USB-C. I am terrified of frying my cameras with a cheap third party brick but I also dont want to carry a massive wall plug everywhere when I am trying to stay mobile.

Honestly I just want a setup that doesnt make me regret bringing both cameras in the first place. I need to be fast and light but every accessory I look at seems to add five pounds to my load. Which of these would you pick if you had to carry both the a7IV and the a7CII for 12 hours a day in the humidity? Or should I just give up on the backpack entirely and look at a large sling?...

I've spent years lugging gear through Southeast Asia and the humidity is the real enemy. If those bags aren't clicking, look at the Shimoda Urban Explore 20L. It has a way better harness system than the PD and feels less boxy than the Wandrd. The airflow on the back panel is actually functional, which matters when you're sweating through your shirt in Bangkok. For power, the a7 IV is definitely thirstier since the BIONZ XR processor pulls more juice during 4K recording. A few technical tips for your setup:

  • Use the Nitecore USN4 Pro Dual Slot USB-C Charger. It manages heat well and the LCD gives you real-time voltage data which is great for monitoring battery health.
  • Pair it with an Anker 737 Power Bank PowerCore 24K for that high-wattage PD output. You can charge one body in the bag while shooting with the other.
  • Get a Peak Design Capture Camera Clip V3. Keeping the a7C II on your strap instead of inside the bag makes the weight distribution way better for those 12-hour days. The NP-FZ100 batteries are pretty robust, so as long as you use a quality PD source, you wont fry anything.
