Hey everyone! Hope you’re all having a great week.

I’ve been eyeing the Sony FX3 for what feels like forever now, and with Cyber Monday just around the corner, my finger is getting incredibly itchy on the 'buy' button! This camera has been on my wishlist as the ultimate upgrade for my video production work – the low-light capabilities, internal 4K 120p, S-Log3, and that phenomenal full-frame sensor are exactly what I need to take my projects to the next level. It's a significant investment, no doubt about it, and honestly, the current price tag is still a bit steep for my budget without some kind of promotional offer.

I've been trying to keep an eye on all the usual suspects – B&H, Adorama, Amazon, and even Sony's official store – but it's a bit overwhelming trying to track every potential price drop or bundle deal. Historically, Cyber Monday has been a goldmine for tech, especially cameras, and I’m really hoping this year is no different for higher-end cinema cameras like the FX3. I’m primarily looking for a deal on the body itself, as I already have a couple of E-mount lenses I can adapt, but I wouldn't say no to an absolutely killer bundle that includes a versatile lens like the 24-105mm f/4 G OSS if the discount is substantial enough. My ideal scenario would be to snag the body for at least 10-15% off, pushing it closer to a price point I can comfortably justify.

Has anyone seen any early 'leaks' or pre-Cyber Monday announcements from reputable retailers regarding the Sony FX3? Or, based on past Black Friday/Cyber Monday sales, which specific stores tend to offer the most competitive deals on professional Sony gear? Any insights on whether we can expect straight discounts on the body, or if it'll be more bundle-focused this year? Really appreciate any tips or heads-up you guys might have!

Tbh, I’ve been diving deep into the technical specs like that internal cooling fan and the dual base ISO—it's so cool—but I’m mostly worried about the safety of where you buy it. You really have to watch out for 'gray market' sellers on some sites that show huge discounts, because those units usually dont come with a US warranty, you know? For a Sony FX3, you definitely want that official manufacturer protection in case the sensor or the recording media slots have issues down the line. Maybe check if you qualify for Sony's EDU program instead? It’s basically a guaranteed discount and way more reliable than hunting for a sketchy Cyber Monday deal that might leave you with no support!!!

  • Honestly, waiting for a flat 15% discount on the Sony FX3 Cinema Line Camera is probably gonna be a letdown. Sony knows they have the market cornered for that specific body style and autofocus combo. If you are really looking for high-end video specs at a lower price point during the sales, it might be worth looking at how others stack up technically.
  • Nikon Z8 Mirrorless Camera often gets much steeper holiday discounts and offers internal 8K N-RAW. It is technically more robust than the Sony XAVC S-I codec for grading, though you lose that built-in fan and the XLR handle.
  • Blackmagic Design Cinema Camera 6K L-Mount is another one to watch. It doesnt have the AF of the Sony, but the BRAW workflow and that full-frame sensor are incredible for the price, especially if deals hit. If you are dead set on the FX3 ecosystem, check the trade-in bonuses at B&H or Adorama. Retailers often add an extra $200 or $300 on top of your gears value specifically during Cyber Monday promos. Its basically a hidden discount that gets you closer to that target price without needing an official MSRP drop. Also, keep an eye on the Sigma 24-70mm f/2.8 DG DN Art for Sony E as a cheaper alternative to that 24-105mm G lens since it usually gets deep discounts.

Honestly, if you look at how the market is moving, Sony just doesnt discount their cinema line like other brands do. I have been tracking the Panasonic Lumix S1H and even the Canon EOS R5 C prices lately, and those manufacturers seem way more aggressive with holiday cuts to grab market share. Sony is basically at the top of the food chain right now with the FX3, so I think they really dont have a reason to slash prices when the demand is already so high. My tip would be to actually look at smaller, local authorized dealers rather than just the massive online retailers. Sometimes those shops are more worried about sitting on inventory and might be willing to throw in a free V90 SD card or a cage just to close the sale. It feels a bit safer than hunting for a massive discount that probably wont happen on the body alone. Just make sure they are on the official Sony authorized list so you dont get burned on the warranty, though I am not 100 percent sure how their holiday stock levels are looking this year.

Hey there! Honestly, I've tracked FX3 deals for a while, and unfortunately, straight body-only discounts are often not as good as expected, especially for 10-15% off. I had issues finding substantial direct savings. You're more likely to see bundle deals, but they often include less versatile lenses or basic kits, not usually the 24-105mm G OSS. I'd seriously monitor B&H and Adorama for potential *gift card* offers or rebates instead of outright price drops. Those tend to be the better 'hidden' deals for pro gear. Hope this helps manage expectations!

Hey there! I totally get that itch! While straight body discounts for 10-15% off are indeed rare, as mentioned, you might want to consider looking at 'open box' or certified 'refurbished' options from trusted retailers like B&H or Adorama. I've personally seen some excellent deals there. Be careful to check the shutter count/run time if possible, and always make sure their return policy is solid. It's a way to potentially get that incredible FX3 without waiting for an unlikely deep cut on a brand new unit.
