I'm looking to upgrade to a Sony mirrorless camera that is great for both video and photos. I do a mix of travel vlogging, interviews, and photography. What are the best Sony models I should consider? Ideally looking to spend under $2000 for the body.
@yellowblue I agree, the a7C II is currently best choice for both photo and video.
This is exactly what I needed to hear. Youre a lifesaver honestly.
Based on search, I think a7 IV is the best choice, price around $2000, and when deals coming, it will below $2000
^ This. Also, as someone who has been shooting professionally for a decade, you're definitely on the right track sticking with this brand. Honestly, just get any of the newer hybrid bodies from Sony and you'll be set. You really can't go wrong with their ecosystem right now. I've found that for vlogging and interviews, any of their recent mirrorless releases will handle the workflow perfectly. The autofocus is so reliable across their whole current lineup that you don't even have to think about it anymore. Even if you look at their more compact APS-C options instead of full-frame, the quality is still professional grade for travel stuff. Size and weight are usually the main factors to weigh since the image quality is so consistent. Just find a body that feels good in your hands and grab a couple of fast lenses. Sony is basically the industry standard for this kind of work for a reason.
If you are mostly for video, get the Sony FX30.
Sony a7C II or Sony a7 III.
The Sony Alpha 7C II is the best camera for both video and photo under $2000. It features a full-frame sensor, compact design, and impressive video capabilities, including 4K recording and advanced autofocus. With its 24.2 MP resolution, it excels in low-light photography and provides excellent image quality. The Alpha 7CII's versatility and user-friendly interface make it a top choice for both enthusiasts and professionals looking for a balance between performance and portability.
