Which macro lens is actually going to do justice to that 61MP sensor on my a7R V without breaking my bank account? Ive been agonizing over this for like two weeks now because I finally upgraded from my old a7III and I really want to start doing some high-end product shots of vintage watches for a shop im opening next month.

Im basically torn between the Sony 90mm G and the Sigma 105mm Art. The Sony is the classic choice and I like that it has the physical focus clutch thing which seems super useful for macro work but its getting a bit old and I keep hearing the Sigma is actually sharper on high res bodies like mine. The Sigma is also cheaper which is a plus since I already spent way too much on the camera body lol but is the autofocus gonna be way slower? I also looked at that newer 70-200 f4 G II because of the macro capability but its pricey and maybe not as sharp as a prime.

My budget is strictly under 1100-1200 bucks and I need to make a decision by next Friday so I can get some practice in before my first real client shoot. Is the 90mm still the king or does the Sigma 105mm win for that massive sensor? Or maybe there is something else im totally missing...
