So I finally pulled the trigger on the Pro and man my wallet is feeling it. I'm trying to figure out what to prioritize first with my remaining $180 budget. I'm stuck between getting the official disc drive since I have a bunch of physical ps4 games or just grabbing the Pulse Elite headset for that better audio.

Then there is the stand... I kinda hate it just sitting flat on my media console but $30 for a piece of plastic feels like a robbery lol. If you guys had to pick, would you go for the disc drive for compatibility or the better audio first? Is the vertical stand actually necessary for airflow or can I skip it for now?

Regarding what #1 said about the stand being a ripoff, I totally agree. Its such a bummer Sony removed it from the box just to squeeze more cash out of us. I honestly wouldnt bother with the official disc drive yet either... mine has been weirdly loud during disc checks and they are basically impossible to find at retail prices right now anyway. Since you mentioned the budget, I would actually look at the <a href=" https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/search?Ntt= SteelSeries+Arctis+Nova+7P+Wireless&BI=8941&KBID=10361&SID=12345&DFF=d50" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">SteelSeries Arctis Nova 7P Wireless instead of the Sony headset. I had some annoying connectivity drops with the official Sony gear which is super frustrating when you are mid-game. The Nova 7P is way more comfortable for long sessions and the dual-wireless feature is honestly a lifesaver for taking calls without pausing. If you are worried about your library, I would put that money toward a Samsung 990 PRO 2TB NVMe SSD with the integrated heatsink. Even with the 2TB internal on the Pro, space disappears fast if you are playing stuff like COD or Rebirth. Its kinda disappointing how quickly those high-res textures eat up storage space. Quick tip: skip the stand. It does absolutely nothing for cooling or airflow. Just make sure the back of the console has a few inches of space from your wall so the hot air can actually escape and you are golden. Lemme know if you need help picking out a specific drive tho, I have swapped a bunch of these recently.
