What are the best vertical stands for PS4 and PS4 Pro?

Hey everyone! I’ve recently decided to give my gaming setup a much-needed makeover, and I’ve run into a bit of a space dilemma. My PS4 Pro has been sitting horizontally on my TV stand for years, and while it works fine that way, it’s absolutely hogging all the room. I’d love to flip it vertically to make some space for my other consoles and some physical game cases, but I’m honestly a little nervous about it tipping over or overheating.

I started browsing Amazon and eBay for vertical stands, but the sheer number of options is overwhelming. There are the super basic plastic slabs, and then there are these high-tech looking stations with cooling fans, controller charging docks, and even slots for game discs. My Pro tends to get pretty loud—it often sounds like a jet engine taking off during more demanding games like God of War or Ghost of Tsushima—so I’m wondering if those cooling fans actually make a tangible difference or if they’re just an extra source of noise I don't really need.

I’m also really concerned about stability. I have a cat who thinks the TV stand is her personal playground, so I need something with a solid grip that’s going to keep the console locked in tight. I’ve seen some stands that claim to be 'universal' for the original PS4, the Slim, and the Pro, but I’m worried that a one-size-fits-all approach might be a bit flimsy for the heavier Pro model.

I’ve looked into the official Sony vertical stand, but it seems a bit hard to find at a decent price these days. Are there any specific third-party brands like OREI or Kootek that you guys swear by? I'm looking for something reliable, ideally under $35, that won't scratch the casing or block the vents.

For those of you who have been using a vertical setup for a while, which stands have worked best for you in terms of build quality and airflow? Are the ones with the built-in charging ports actually worth the extra cash, or should I just stick to a simple, sturdy base?

Seconding the recommendation above—honestly, those built-in fans are basically a scam. They rarely actually lower the internal temps and usually just add a high-pitched whine that makes the "jet engine" Pro sound even worse. If u want stability for ur cat and a clean look without breaking the bank, I’ve found that simpler is almost always better. In my experience over the years, the "all-in-one" docks with the game slots are highkey flimsy. They’re usually made of light plastic and tip easily if a cat jumps on 'em. Since u want something under $35 that’s actually reliable and wont scratch the casing, here are a couple of options I've used that actually hold up: * PowerA Vertical Stand for PlayStation 4 Pro – This one is officially licensed and has a much wider, heavier base than the generic slabs. It uses locking screws that keep the console from wobbling, which is a lifesaver with pets around. * Younik Vertical Stand for PS4 Pro with Non-Slip Feet – If u want to save some cash, this one is great because it has actual cutouts for the intake vents instead of just blocking them. No fans, just better natural airflow. Also, a quick pro-tip: if ur Pro is still sounding like it's gonna take off after getting a stand, it might be time to use some Dust-Off Compressed Gas Duster 12oz to clear out the heatsink. A stand helps with airflow, but it cant fix years of dust buildup inside the fins. Hope that helps u clear some space on the TV stand! gl with the makeover!

In my experience, those cheap fans just move hot air around and dont actually help the thermals. For ur situation, the OREI Vertical Stand for PS4 Pro is the goat for stability cuz its weighted way better. It wont tip even if ur cat goes nuts lol. If u want docks, the BEBONCOOL PS4 Pro Vertical Stand with Cooling Fan is decent for under $30, but tbh fans usually just add noise.

In my experience, the Kootek Vertical Stand for PS4 Pro is ur best bet. Its wayy more stable for cats than the official slab and honestly helps thermal management.
