Which small gimbal is actually going to work with my Sony a6700 and my new FX30 because I am totally lost? I bought these cameras for my travel vlog starting next month but I cant get the balance right on anything and its driving me crazy. Im a total beginner and honestly all the specs for payload and axis locks just sound like gibberish to me. I need something lightweight because I'm backpacking through Japan in three weeks and my budget is strictly under 400 bucks. I keep seeing the Crane M3 or the RS3 Mini online but people keep saying different things about if the FX30 fits with a cage. Im so frustrated and just want something that wont break my wrist or take two hours to set up every time I want to film...

I had issues with smaller zhiyun gear and it was not as good as expected for bigger cameras. Unfortunately the fx30 with a cage is way too chunky for the m3. Id go with the DJI RS 3 Mini 3-Axis Mirrorless Gimbal instead. Just lock those axes before packing it or you might snap something. Its the only one that actually handles the weight well under 400 bucks.

Totally agree about the weight issues. Over the years I've found the Zhiyun Weebill 3S Handheld Gimbal Stabilizer is much more reliable for a caged FX30 than the tiny ones.

  • Mark your balance spots with a silver sharpie so you don't struggle.
  • Use a Ulanzi Falcam F38 Quick Release System for faster swaps. Honestly, saves a ton of frustration when you're actually out filming in Japan.

Wait, what lenses are you actually using? The glass weight usually causes more balancing issues than the camera itself.
