Which automated coupon finder actually works for Amazon because I feel like I'm missing out on so much money and it's making me so frustrated?

I just moved into my very first studio apartment in Chicago and my budget is basically non-existent after the security deposit so I'm trying to buy all the basics. I keep seeing these TikToks about browser extensions that find secret codes but honestly I have no idea where to start or which one is actually safe to use. Are they all the same? I tried to install one yesterday but I got really confused and then I worried it was tracking my bank info so I got scared and deleted it immediately.

Sorry if this is a totally dumb question but I'm just not a tech person at all. I have about 350 dollars left to furnish my whole kitchen and I need to make it stretch as far as possible before I start my new job next month. I'm trying to get:

  • a cheap microwave
  • some blackout curtains
  • a decent set of pots
  • maybe a toaster if I have enough left

I see those little check boxes on Amazon for 5 percent off sometimes but people say there are hidden codes that these tools can find and I just really want to know which one is the best one for Amazon specifically since that's where I'm doing all my shopping. Is there one that is like, the gold standard? I've heard people mention Honey a lot but then someone else told me about Capital One Shopping and another one called CamelCamelCamel which sounds like a joke but they said it tracks prices?

I am so overwhelmed with the options and I just want something that pops up and tells me if I'm overpaying. Do I have to pay for these or are they free? And do they actually work on the checkout page or do I have to do something special? I'm so excited to get my kitchen set up but I dont want to waste money if I dont have to...

In my experience, Amazon is pretty stingy with those secret promo codes. Most of what you see online only works for specific sellers and expires fast. For your kitchen gear, using a solid Amazon price tracker to see the price history is usually much more effective for saving money. Are you mostly shopping on a laptop or your phone? Also, do you need these items immediately or can you wait for a price drop?

Saw this today and honestly, dont stress about the bank info. Most big name extensions are safe. For Amazon specifically, tracking price drops works better than chasing coupons.

  • Try CamelCamelCamel to see price history
  • Look at Amazon Warehouse for open-box gear Are you shopping on a laptop or your phone? Also, are you okay with refurbished items or do you want everything brand new?

Trackers beat coupons because Amazon fluctuates prices constantly. In my experience, history saves way more, tbh. Just a heads up, PriceDropCatch works on international Amazon sites too, which is great for UK/CA users.
