so my sister is having her baby shower next Saturday and my husband and I are trying to get everything ordered like today so it gets here in time but we are having the hardest time with the stupid amazon cart. like i have 5 things in my cart on my phone and he has like 3 things on his and we want to just combine them so we dont pay for shipping twice or have ten different boxes showing up at the house. i thought maybe if i just gave him my password he could see my cart but when he logged in his stuff wasnt there? its just my stuff.

so i was thinking maybe we need to make a shared list but then does that go into the cart automatically? i am so confused and i feel really dumb asking this but i cant find a share button anywhere. i looked at the help page but it was all talk about business accounts and stuff we dont have. my logic was that there would just be a button that says share cart or something but i cant find it for the life of me. is there just a simple way to link our accounts so we can see what the other person is buying before we hit the buy now button?? we really need to get this done tonight before the items go out of stock or shipping takes too long...

Ugh I totally feel your pain! Amazon makes it way harder than it needs to be! Honestly, the best way is to just use a shared wish list then move everything to the cart at once. I actually found this awesome guide on how to share amazon cart that explains the easiest shortcuts. It is a total lifesaver when me and my husband are panic-buying! Good luck getting those baby gifts!

Saw this earlier but just now responding. Like someone mentioned, lists are fine, but I am very satisfied with the Amazon Household integration. I set this up last year for our nursery build and it works well.

  • Go to Account Settings
  • Select Amazon Household
  • Invite the second adult Syncing the Prime benefits and payment methods makes it way easier. No complaints!

I have been buying on Amazon for over a decade and honestly, I have learned the hard way that the official sharing features are usually more trouble than they are worth when you are in a rush. In my experience, these systems lag or show different totals at checkout which is a nightmare for budgeting. My husband and I eventually gave up on the complicated settings and just started using a specific browser extension designed for cart sharing because it is much more reliable than the built-in tools. Before you try any more official methods, I have a couple questions:

  • Are you both using the exact same Prime membership or do you have separate ones?
  • Do you need to keep your other purchases hidden from each other for surprises later? Knowing those details changes the best approach quite a bit. Btw, if you're struggling with sharing baskets, Smartphone Board covers a few ways to manage it.
