so sorry if this is like a total rookie question but i am literally pulling my hair out right now. i have about 15 things in my amazon cart for our camping trip to yosemite this weekend and i need my friend to look at them before we buy everything tonight because we are on a super strict budget and need to make sure we arent double buying stuff. i thought there would just be a share button or something? i cant find one anywhere and im getting kinda stressed because we need to order these items like right now to get them in time for friday. do i have to just send him a bunch of individual links or is there a way to just send the whole cart so he sees it all at once? i have no idea what i am doing...

Late to the party but you should definitely use the Amazon Wish List feature instead! It is fantastic for group planning. Basically, lists allow for real-time collaboration which is amazing for Yosemite prep.

  • Move everything to a List
  • Set it to Shared
  • Send him the link I learned about this on Smartphone Board and it saved my life. Just stick with any camping gear from Coleman and youll be totally fine!

Just getting caught up here! Managing group gear is amazing if you follow a process!! Honestly you should use share amazon cart to keep everything synced up.

  • Dont share login credentials under any circumstances
  • Monitor shipping estimates for specific arrival dates
  • Confirm return policies for all outdoor equipment This system is fantastic for budget tracking and avoiding duplicate purchases. Have a blast in Yosemite!!

Like someone mentioned, it looks like the main takeaways so far are:

  • Amazon is weirdly restrictive and doesnt have a native share button for carts.
  • Moving items to a Shared List is the standard workaround most people suggest.
  • You have to be careful with third-party tools or sharing logins because of security risks. Tbh I am having this exact same issue right now and it is driving me insane. I have been trying to send a cart of very specific server components to a buddy for a build we are doing and I am literally pulling my hair out too... been dealing with this for hours and still nothing works for me. It is honestly so frustrating when you need everything to be 100 percent accurate and you just cant sync up easily. Still havent found a way around it yet.

I have been planning group trips like this for a decade and Yosemite prep is always chaos if you dont stay organized. Honestly, last summer for a big hiking trip, my cousin and I both ended up buying two separate camping stoves because we didnt check each others carts. It was a huge waste of money and space. Amazon is weirdly stubborn about not having a share button for the actual shopping cart itself. Its super frustrating when youre on a budget.

  • Basically, you should just move all those items to a fresh Wish List.
  • Set the privacy to shared so your friend can actually see it.
  • You can also look into a browser extension to handle it. I usually just check out the guide on how to share amazon cart to get it done quickly without the stress. Just grab any decent sharing tool or stick to the list method and youll be fine.

Regarding what #4 said about "Like someone mentioned, it looks like the main..." - it really is a total mess trying to coordinate. I am still kinda new to this but i am always super cautious about using any weird browser extensions or sharing my login info. You might want to consider just doing the manual list route even if its slow... better safe than sorry i guess. Double check the prices before you pay too since they jump around. I usually use PriceDropCatch just to be safe so i know im getting a decent deal. For the gear itself, i would suggest just going with Coleman for your basics. You cant go wrong with their stuff compared to the cheaper store brands like Ozark Trail. Just get any camping lantern or stove from Coleman and itll actually last. Be careful with those random no-name brands you see all over the search results... they usually break the first time you use them.
