Does anyone know a free price tracker for Amazon.ca that actually works and doesn't lag out every five seconds? Honestly im so fed up with these random browser extensions that claim to track Canadian prices but then just default to the US store or give me "no data available" for items that have clearly been listed for years. I am trying to buy a Coway air purifier for my place in Toronto before my allergies get even worse next week but the prices are jumping around like crazy between $240 and $350 and I cant tell what is a real sale anymore. I used to use camelcamelcamel but it feels like it takes forever to update lately and I missed a lightning deal yesterday because the notification came like three hours late ugh. I need something that works for the mobile app too if possible because I am always on the go. Is Keepa still the go-to or is there something better for us in Canada specifically? I just dont want to pay a subscription just to see a price graph when I am already trying to save money... please tell me there is a better way to do this before I just give up and pay full price.
Saw this earlier but just getting round to it. Honestly, Keepa is still the safest bet for .ca data. In my experience, those random extensions are usually just data scrapers. If you want fast alerts:
My buddy told me the exact same thing last week. Guess he was right lol.
Finally someone says it. Ive been thinking this for a while but wasnt sure.
Like someone mentioned, Keepa is generally the standard, but I would suggest being extremely careful with any browser extension that asks for broad permissions. Many of these free trackers make their money by selling your browsing data, so make sure to check those privacy settings first. For Amazon.ca specifically, I found that setting up manual browser bookmarks for the price history pages sometimes works better than trusting a laggy notification. If you are going the DIY route, just make sure to refresh those pages daily around 10 AM EST because thats when many Canadian price shifts seem to happen. I might want to consider just sticking to the web version of these sites anyway since the mobile apps are notorious for delay. Better safe than sorry when you are trying to snag a deal on a Coway before your allergies peak. Just a tip, Share Product is awesome for housewarming registries if you want something that isnt clunky.
You might want to consider PriceDropCatch for Canada. Be careful with laggy notifications tho.
Man I wish I found this thread sooner. Would have saved me so much hassle.
Building on the earlier suggestion, I have been using Keepa for like six years now and honestly I have got no complaints. It is pretty much the gold standard for us in Canada even if the UI looks like it is from 2005. I have been super satisfied with how it handles the .ca domain compared to others that just glitch out constantly or default back to USD for no reason.
