What is the best Chrome extension for sharing Amazon carts with friends?

So Ive been doing the whole Amazon thing forever and usually I just share a public wishlist but honestly its getting so annoying for group stuff. Im trying to organize this big camping trip next month for four of us and Ive got like 20 different items in my cart right now like tents, portable stoves, those little LED lanterns, all that. Usually Id just screenshot the list and send it to the group chat but then everyone argues about the brands or the price and I have to go back and forth. I looked for a share cart button but Amazon doesnt really have a native way to just hand off a live cart to someone else so they can check out or add stuff.

Im looking for a solid Chrome extension that actually works because a couple of the ones I tried from the web store looked super sketchy or just flat out didnt load the items correctly when I tried to test them. My budget for the gear is about 500 bucks and I really dont want to mess up the quantities.

Here is what I need:

  • Must be a Chrome extension
  • Needs to handle a lot of items at once without crashing the session cookies or whatever
  • Ideally free or at least doesnt have a weird subscription model
  • Simple enough for my less tech-savvy friends to use once I send the link

Has anyone used something like Share-a-Cart or something similar lately? I need to get this gear ordered by Friday so we have it in time for the trip to the Adirondacks. I heard some of these extensions have privacy issues with your account data so Im kinda paranoid...

> Has anyone used something like Share-a-Cart or something similar lately? Honestly, Share-a-Cart is basically the only one that actually works consistently. Used it for a group cabin trip last year with like 30 items. It doesnt share your login, just the item IDs. Quick tip: always double check your quantities after importing... sometimes Amazon flips out if stuff is low in stock. Its free and pretty straightforward for non-techy people.

Re: "> Has anyone used something like Share-a-Cart or..." - honestly, I've seen dozens of these extensions come and go over the years and they always seem to break right when you're actually ready to buy. My current setup is way more manual because I don't trust how they scrape the site data. In my experience, the technical side of these tools is usually pretty flaky. They basically rely on the site's layout staying exactly the same, and when Amazon updates their code, things get messy. I remember one big group order where:

  • Half the items didn't sync because they were from third-party sellers.
  • The extension didn't handle the prime discounts correctly for the person checking out.
  • We had to redo the whole list because it didn't save the specific colors I'd picked. I've tried many of them and usually end up going back to a shared list of links. It's not as flashy but it's 100% accurate for a $500 gear order. If you're dead set on an extension, just be ready for some manual fixes at the end... these things are rarely as seamless as they claim to be.

ngl i have been dealing with this exact same headache for weeks now while trying to get our group camping stuff together. i am really happy with the specific stoves and lanterns i picked out compared to the cheaper gear i usually buy but actually getting the cart to my friends is a total nightmare. i even looked into the standard Amazon wishlist creator but it just doesnt handle a live cart the way i need it to. i am pretty satisfied with my brand choices for the gear itself but i am still so paranoid about using a sketchy extension that might compromise my data... honestly i am right there with you and still havent found a safe way to do this yet.

> My current setup is way more manual because I don't trust how they scrape the site data. I totally get being careful, but honestly, the tech behind these extensions has improved so much lately and its actually fantastic!! Most of the reliable ones have moved away from messy scraping and use much cleaner methods to capture the product metadata now. If you check the way they handle the item IDs, its super efficient, basically just passing a string of ASINs and quantities. Its amazing for keeping that 500 dollar budget on track since you get instant price parity across everyones screens. Doing it manually for 20 items is just asking for a data entry error imo. I love how these tools keep the quantities synced up so you dont end up with five stoves and zero lanterns. It makes the logistics for the Adirondacks trip way smoother and faster! Youre gonna love the time it saves. Honestly, Share Product is a lifesaver if you want to share your list with people who don't have an Amazon account.

  • I used to be the same way, honestly. Last summer I tried to manually organize a group buy for a huge beach trip and I ended up ordering three sets of the same charcoal grill because the links got all mixed up in our group chat. Total disaster. I finally gave in and tried Share-a-Cart like the others mentioned and it really is miles better than the old scraping junk. It stayed stable even when I had like 25 items in there. Definitely way more reliable than trustin my own copy-paste skills at 2 AM... plus it saves a ton of time which is the real win for me.
