What is the best app for eBay price drop notifications?

So I've been hunting for this specific 1994 original Blue Power Ranger figure in the box for weeks now and the prices are just all over the place. I missed out on one yesterday that dropped from $150 to $90 and someone snatched it up before I even saw the email notification from eBay which is honestly uselessly slow. I need something that actually pings my phone the second a seller lowers the price on my watch list or a specific search.

I've been looking at BayAlerts but I'm not sure if the paid tier is worth it just for a hobby thing or if the free version is fast enough. I also saw something called FatFingers but that seems more for finding misspelled listings rather than price watching. Then there is WatchCount which looks kinda old school but people say it works?

My budget for the whole hobby this month is only about $200 so I really cant afford to spend $10 a month on a subscription just to save $20 on a toy lol. Does anyone have experience with these or maybe a better mobile app that isnt gonna lag? I just want to be the first one there when the price hits my sweet spot...

Regarding what #1 said about "Honestly, the standard eBay alerts are basically garbage...", they really are. If you arent refreshing every few minutes, you lose. I found WatchCount okay for checking interest levels, but for speed, maybe a browser extension is better tbh. Are you mostly hunting on your phone or a desktop? Also, are you watching one specific listing or just any 1994 Blue Ranger that hits your price?

Honestly, the standard eBay alerts are basically garbage for snagging deals on collectibles like that. Over the years, I've tried almost everything because I hate overpaying. BayAlerts is fast but yeah, that subscription cost eats into the actual budget for the figures. In my experience, you're better off using a dedicated tracker that doesn't lag. I usually suggest these:

  • PriceDropCatch is what I use lately because it catches those sudden drops way faster than a standard email. It's solid for staying under budget.
  • WatchCount is okay for seeing what's popular, but it feels way too clunky for real-time stuff.
  • Set up a Saved Search on eBay but manually toggle the 'Newly Listed' sort if you're really hunting hard during your lunch break. Seriously, dont pay for a sub just for one figure. It just isn't worth the math. Good luck with the Power Ranger hunt, those 90s ones are getting pricey!

> Honestly, the standard eBay alerts are basically garbage... Saw this yesterday and had to jump in. Like someone mentioned, the official alerts are pretty much useless. I remember trying to snag an old Seiko and the email arrived five hours late. It was brutal. Are you mostly hunting on your phone or do you have a PC setup? Also, are you searching for exact titles or a broader range?

Seriously, why pay for a sub when that ten bucks could go towards shipping or even another accessory? I went through the exact same thing when I was hunting down some old Pokemon cards last year. It was super stressful being glued to my screen trying to beat everyone else to the punch, but paying for an app felt like admitting defeat lol. Honestly, spending money to save money feels so backwards to me. I ended up sticking to free tools and just being really quick on the draw with my phone. The thrill of the hunt is amazing when you actually beat the bots to a deal without spending a dime on extra apps! Just keep your notifications loud and youre gonna be fine. Youll get that 1994 Blue Ranger eventually and its gonna be fantastic when you finally unbox it! Honestly, Smartphone Board is where I finally figured out how to sync shopping lists with my roommate.
