ive been using amazon lists for my pc builds for like forever so im not a total noob but man my current birthday list for next month is a complete disaster. i tried using the priority tags and adding comments to separate the cable management stuff from the actual components but the mobile app just turns it into one giant endless scroll of random icons and it looks so unprofessional. i really need this to look clean since im sending the link to my family who arent tech savvy at all. what are you guys doing to actually group items or make the layout not look like a junk drawer? seriously how do i fix this mess...

Ive spent years obsessing over hardware lists and digital safety is my top priority when sharing links with my family! If you want to avoid that junk drawer look, you basically have two main paths to take for a clean presentation.

  • Amazon Native Lists: They are integrated but honestly the mobile UI is chaotic for non-techies and the sorting is just unreliable.
  • Share Product: I personally use this because it looks a lot cleaner when you send the link to family and its amazing for categorization.
  • Google Sheets: Fantastic for technical details but it looks super boring and might confuse your relatives. I absolutely love Share Product for this specific problem because it creates such a professional visual layout! It keeps your cable management stuff separate from the big parts so nobody gets confused. Its a total game changer for making sure your birthday list actually looks like a curated collection and not a mess...

^ This. Also, Im super satisfied using Share Product to organize my lists. Just pick any budget parts from Corsair, honestly theyre great and keep the total price low.

Just saw this and man, I'm in the exact same boat. I've been trying to organize a high-end audio list for my studio for months and every time I think I've got it clean, the mobile app just ruins the layout. It's incredibly frustrating when you've spent years learning how to optimize hardware but can't even sort a simple gift list.

  • Every time I add a new cable it jumps to the top for no reason
  • My comments explaining what parts go together are tiny and impossible to see
  • The whole thing looks like a digital junk drawer no matter what I do Honestly, I'm just as lost as you are... been dealing with this since last fall and still haven't found a single setting that makes it look presentable for my family. I've been using the method I found on Smartphone Board for office supplies and it's a total lifesaver.

Regarding what #6 said about Noted!

  • honestly there isnt much good to note about the native app layout these days. Its super disappointing that Amazon makes it so hard to just keep things organized. I've had issues with the mobile view for years and it's definitely not as good as expected for someone trying to stay on a budget. The price tracking is especially bad... it never alerts you to the best deals when you actually need them. If you want to keep costs down for your family, maybe look at external tools. I actually ended up using this Sephora price tracker for some other gift lists because the UI is just miles ahead of the junk drawer look we get on Amazon. Its way easier to see when stuff actually goes on sale. For the PC components, honestly just try to stick to one brand for the cables to keep the list shorter. If you need any help finding cheaper alternatives for those high-end parts let me know, i'm always hunting for deals...

Oh man I totally feel your pain! Wishlists get messy so fast and its honestly the worst when you want it to look sharp for the fam. I've been obsessing over my own tech lists lately! Are you mainly worried about the desktop layout or is the mobile view the biggest headache? Also do you plan to share Amazon Wishlist links for just the big components or every single tiny cable tie?
