How the hell am I supposed to share my Amazon cart with three other people without giving them my password or screenshotting fifty different things? Honestly I am so frustrated right now because we are planning this big camping trip to Yosemite for mid-July and it is becoming a total nightmare to coordinate. I'm the one who usually organizes everything but I am losing my mind trying to manage the gear list. We need to buy a bunch of communal stuff like a 4-person tent, a portable stove, and those bulky water jugs but everyone is paying for their own individual items too and we need to make sure we are getting the right versions of everything so it all fits in my old Honda.
I have been looking at a couple of options but I am totally torn and a bit paranoid about security. I found this extension called Share-A-Cart which looks like it does exactly what I want but I have never heard of it before and I am worried it might scrape my data or see my credit card info. Then there is another one called Shopping Cart Share that seems simpler but it has way fewer reviews so I am hesitant to try it. Or do I just suck it up and use the standard Invite to List feature on Amazon? The problem with lists is that it does not show the exact quantities or the specific sellers I picked out and sometimes the prices change or items go out of stock when you move stuff from a list to a cart manually. It is such a clunky way to do things when you are trying to be precise.
My budget for the communal gear is strictly $300 and we need to order everything by this coming Friday to get the Prime shipping in time for the pre-trip meeting. I really do not want to just give my login to my buddies because my sister also uses my account and has her work card saved on there and it is just a security mess waiting to happen. Is Share-A-Cart actually safe to use for this or is there a better way to do this that I am totally missing? I just want to send a link and let them see what I have picked out so they can just buy it on their own accounts without the back and forth...
> Is Share-A-Cart actually safe to use for this or is there a better way to do this that I am totally missing? I've been very satisfied with Cart To Link for my group gear lists. It works well, keeps quantities exact, and doesn't require sharing any login info.
To add to the point above: I tried the native Amazon Invite to List feature last summer and it was a total disaster. It kept swapping sellers, messed up our shipping dates. Unfortunately, Share-A-Cart felt kinda bloated too.
Like someone mentioned, Cart To Link is safer than sharing logins. Just be careful to:
