I am actually losing my mind trying to organize this big camping trip for next weekend in Big Sur and everyone keeps texting me different Amazon links for stuff we need like portable stoves and lanterns and its getting so messy. I really want to just have one single cart that we all contribute to so I can just checkout once and we save on the individual shipping costs since most of them dont have Prime but I do. My logic was that there has to be an official button for this but I am looking everywhere and I cant find anything that isnt for like, a wedding registry or a wish list which isnt what I want because I dont want them to buy things separately and pay five different delivery fees. It just feels so inefficient.
I was thinking about maybe just sharing my login info with the three of them so they can just log in and add what they need but then I started getting really anxious about my credit card info being right there and what if someone accidentally clicks buy now or something?? My other option I found was this chrome extension called Share-A-Cart but I am so paranoid about those kinds of things having access to my browser data or whatever plus I dont know if my friends are tech savvy enough to install it correctly without making a mess of it. Has anyone used that? Is it actually safe?
Then I read somewhere that Amazon Fresh has a group ordering thing but we arent ordering groceries we need actual gear like sleeping bags and stakes so I dont know if that even works for normal items and I cant find the button on the main site anyway. I have a strict 500 dollar budget for the group gear and I need to get this ordered by Thursday so it gets here in time for the drive up from LA. I feel like I am stuck between risking my security with a shared password or spending three hours manually adding items from a messy group chat and probably forgetting the most important stuff. Is there a better way to do this that I am missing or am I stuck just copy-pasting fifty links from my text messages into my own cart while I pray I dont miss anything... its honestly stressing me out way more than a vacation should...
+1
Honestly just go with the extension. I've used Share-A-Cart for years and honestly it works well every time. No complaints at all with the security either.
I have been an active Amazon user for years and I definitely understand the frustration with managing group logistics. I think I dealt with this same headache during a trip last year. > My other option I found was this chrome extension called Share-A-Cart but I am so paranoid about those kinds of things having access to my browser data or whatever... Is it actually safe? I have been using Share-A-Cart for quite some time and I am very satisfied with how it handles these situations. While I am not 100% sure about every technical security layer, it works well for my group shopping needs without any issues. I recall reading somewhere that the extension only interacts with the cart data itself and doesnt touch your payment information, though I am not totally certain on that specific detail. It has been a very reliable solution for me and I have no complaints. Using a dedicated tool is much more methodical than trying to track individual links in a messy chat thread. Your friends just send you a code and the items populate directly into your view. I think it will definitely help you stay within that 500 dollar budget since you can see the total before you checkout. Just make sure your friends send their lists by Wednesday so you can meet your Thursday deadline. It is a lot better than risking your password security or spending hours on manual entry.
