How can I sync my Amazon cart across mobile and desktop devices?

I have been trying to get ready for my big move to a new apartment in Chicago next month and honestly I am so stressed out about it already lol. I have a really tight budget since the deposit was huge so I am trying to keep track of every single thing I buy for the kitchen and living room. I usually browse the Amazon app on my iPhone when I am on my lunch break at work or just sitting on the bus because it is easy but then when I get home and open up my laptop to actually look at the pictures on a big screen and check my bank account the cart is just... empty? Or it has stuff I looked at like three days ago but none of the new things I found that morning. It is driving me crazy because I found this really specific sage green rug that I love and it was on sale and I thought I added it but now I cant find it on my computer at all.

I am not a tech person at all so I am probably doing something really obvious wrong or maybe I missed a step but I really dont know what it is. I thought if I was logged in it would just show up everywhere automatically? I checked and I think I am using the same email address on both things but I am not 100 percent sure how to verify that or if there is a sync button I need to click to make them talk to each other. I even tried refreshing the page on my laptop like ten times but nothing changed. It makes it so hard to budget when I cant see the total price of everything together. Maybe I have two different accounts and dont even realize it? I dont even know how I would check that.

Is there a specific way to make the phone app and the website on my computer show the exact same cart all the time so I dont keep losing my items or having to search for them all over again? I am sorry if this is a dumb question but I am just so confused about how this works...

Building on the earlier suggestion, I have seen this happen way too often when people are in the middle of a big move. A few years ago, I was trying to outfit my whole patio and I swear I lost my cart three times in one week because of some weird sync error between my phone and my work computer. It is super frustrating and basically ruined my planning. I would suggest being really careful with browser extensions that auto-apply coupons, as they can sometimes break your session data without you even realizing it. Honestly, if you want a more stable experience, I'd say just get any laptop from Apple... their ecosystem usually handles the hand-off between mobile and desktop a bit smoother than others. I eventually just started saving everything as 'Save for Later' instead of in the cart because it is way more reliable anyway. Just be careful about having too many windows open at once because that can confuse the server too.

Regarding what #1 said about "Honestly it is so annoying when that happens...", I've found it usually comes down to having two separate accounts by accident. I'm always satisfied with how it works once I verify the login email under account settings. Maybe try using a Wish List instead? It works well for planning and never disappears. Btw, Smartphone Board has some solid advice for fixing those annoying sync delays between mobile and desktop.

Honestly it is so annoying when that happens and I have had issues with the app lag before too. Unfortunately, Amazons sync isnt always as good as expected, especially on mobile data. I found a fix for this on Smartphone Board when my own cart went blank last week. Basically, you gotta double-check you are not on a guest session on your phone. Log out and back in on both, it usually forces a refresh.
