I read about Amazon Household but it seems to only share Prime perks, not the actual items in the cart? Also looked at extensions like Share-A-Cart but they look kinda sketchy and I'm worried. We need to sync our nursery order before next week!

  • must be free
  • no password sharing

how can he see my cart?

I saw the earlier suggestion but honestly, I'd disagree with trying to find a workaround for the actual shopping cart. From a technical security standpoint, you really might want to be careful with those third party extensions. They often require access to your browser cookies which is basically like giving them a key to your house... not ideal for nursery shopping or anything else really. I would suggest following this path instead:

  • Move everything to a Shared List
  • Use the Collaboration feature
  • Have him move items to his own cart from there Just use an Amazon list. It's built into their system so you wont have issues with session timeouts or data leaks. It is much more stable than trying to force a sync on the cart level which Amazon intentionally blocks for security reasons. Stick to the native tools and you wont have to worry about your account getting flagged. it is better to be safe when it comes to your payment data tho.

Honestly, the cart system is super annoying because it's basically session-based, but I found the absolute best workaround when I was building my home automation rack last year! I had like 40 different sensors and controllers that my wife needed to approve, and sharing the cart was a total nightmare because those items just won't stay synced across different logins. The secret is using a Shared List instead of the cart itself. Amazon actually builds these lists to handle real-time collaboration with zero lag. Since you're already on a Household, it works amazing! Basically, carts are tied to your specific user ID and temporary cookies, which is why extensions often break or feel sketchy... they're trying to bypass security protocols. Lists are server-side, so they're solid as a rock. Heres how to do it without any weird third-party stuff:

  • Go to your Lists and create a new one called Nursery.
  • Click the Invite button and send the link to your husband.
  • When you're on a product page, hit Add to List instead of Add to Cart.
  • He can literally see the items pop up on his phone in seconds. The tech behind it is fantastic because it preserves all the important metadata like price drops or coupons. Once he likes something, he can move it directly from the shared list into his own cart. I love this method because it keeps everything organized and you dont have to worry about session timeouts or losing your progress. Its way safer! Btw, if you're struggling with sharing baskets, Smartphone Board covers a few ways to manage it.
