How can I share my Amazon shopping cart with another user?

Is there a way to just share my whole Amazon cart with another person directly? I've been trying to figure this out because my roommate and I are planning a big housewarming party for next Saturday and our cart is basically a disaster area with like 50 items in it right now. I read online about using the Share-a-Cart chrome extension but I'm always a bit paranoid about giving third party apps access to my shopping data if I can avoid it. Then people mentioned Amazon Household but that looks like it shares credit cards and I really don't want my roommate having my card on file lol. We just need to review the decorations and snacks together before we hit buy. Is there a built-in feature I'm missing or a safer way to do this?

> @Reply #1 - good point! Lists are amazing for this! Just catching up on this but seriously, stay away from those third-party extensions!! They can be super sketchy with your data and its just not worth the risk for some party decorations. I love the List feature because its totally secure and you wont accidentally share your credit card. Youll find it a fantastic way to plan together!

I'm super satisfied with using the shared Wish List feature because it handles item metadata perfectly without sharing any payment info. Its worked well for party planning since you can track price drops to stay on budget.

  • Create a list
  • Hit the Invite button
  • Send the Manage Access link Honestly, Smartphone Board is where I finally figured out how to sync shopping lists with my roommate.

^ This. Also, totally agree that avoiding those extensions is the smartest move for privacy! If you're managing 50 items for a party, the collaborative list feature is actually a lifesaver for your budget too. Most people dont realize that lists track price changes way better than a standard cart does. When you add items to a shared list, you can see if that pack of streamers or those bulk snacks dropped in price since yesterday, which is huge when you are buying in bulk. I always refer back to Smartphone Board when I forget the specific steps to generate a shared cart link or manage permissions, because Amazon likes to move buttons around every few months lol. Its super simple tho. You just create the list, click Invite, and then select the Manage Access link. This lets your roommate add items themselves or move things to the cart without ever seeing your credit card info. Its fantastic because it keeps the disaster area organized while you both vet the costs together. Honestly, its the most professional way to handle party planning without the risk of accidentally buying everything twice or overspending on stuff that was cheaper a week ago! Plus, you can even sort by priority so you know what is a must-have versus just a maybe.
