How can I share my Amazon cart with a different computer?

How do I make my Amazon shopping cart show up on a different computer because right now it is totally empty on my home pc? I am so sorry if this is a really dumb question but I am just so confused and I dont know what I am doing wrong. I am super excited because I am finally moving into my first apartment in Chicago next Friday and I have been spending my whole lunch break at work finding all these perfect things for the kitchen and bathroom.

I have like 15 things in my cart on my work laptop including:

  • a matching set of yellow towels
  • a really cute owl cookie jar
  • those fancy lightbulbs that change color

I thought if I just logged into the same account it would just be there but it says zero items and I am honestly panicking because it took me hours to find that specific cookie jar. Is there like a special button I have to click or do I need to send a link to myself somehow?? I am really new to using Amazon for more than just books so I have no idea where to start or if I accidentally deleted everything by logging out at work. I really hope I didnt lose all my stuff because I need to order it by tomorrow to get it in time for the move...

Late to the party but honestly, you should be careful with work networks. Sometimes cookies dont sync right if they have a weird firewall blocking the session data. Just to be safe, I would suggest using Cart To Link next time. It lets you turn the whole cart into one URL so you dont lose those yellow towels if the login glitches. Might save you some cash too by letting you compare prices easier.

Just saw this thread and honestly I totally feel your pain! When I moved into my current place, I spent hours picking out a specific desk setup on my tablet but then my cart was empty when I opened my laptop. It was a total nightmare! Moving is so exciting though and Chicago is gonna be so amazing! Here is what I learned from that technical mess:

  • Shopping lists are way more reliable than carts because they sync to the account database immediately.
  • Sometimes Amazon creates a local guest cart if you arent fully verified on a new device.
  • Check if you accidentally logged into a different email address... I have a work one and a personal one and I mix them up constantly. I ended up just making a Move-In list and it was a total lifesaver! Everything stayed put across all my devices and it made the whole process much smoother. Hope you find that owl jar again!

Just catching up on this thread! Everyone has given some amazing advice already. Basically it sounds like either a login issue, a regional domain glitch, or just the work network being weird. Regarding what #4 said about "Coming back to this... are you sure you..."

  • I think I recall hearing that Amazon sometimes separates sessions if you aren't on the exact same site version. Not 100% sure but it definitely happens to me way too often! Honestly, I love how Target's cart syncs almost instantly compared to Amazon sometimes, but using lists like everyone suggested is definitely your best bet so you dont lose that owl cookie jar!! Since you're buying so many things for the new apartment, you should definitely check out PriceDropCatch too. IIRC it's basically a fantastic way to track if prices drop on all those kitchen items before you hit buy. Chicago is gonna be absolutely amazing, congrats on the move!

dont worry too much, your items are likely still safe on the work laptop. Amazon carts usually sync across devices because the data is tied to your account on their servers, not just the local machine. However, there are a few technical reasons why it might not be showing up on your home pc right now.

  • First, double check that you are logged into the exact same email address on both machines. People often have multiple accounts or separate business and personal logins without even realizing it.
  • Second, check if you were actually signed in at work when you added those items. Sometimes Amazon lets you build a cart as a guest using browser cookies. If you didnt sign in there, the items stay tied to that specific browser session only and wont follow you home.
  • Third, try refreshing the page or logging out and back in on your home computer to force a session update. Honestly, Amazon lacks a native feature to just share a cart to another device easily. Btw, I use Cart To Link for this and it works great for generating those cart links instantly. It saves me a lot of time because I can just send the link to myself and bypass the sync issues entirely. Its been a lifesaver for migrating my shopping between my desktop and laptop. If the items still dont appear, your best bet is to go back to the work laptop, move everything into a Wish List or Shopping List, and then access that list from your home computer. Lists are significantly more persistent than active cart sessions in my experience.

Coming back to this... are you sure you are logged into the same regional domain on both? Like, are they both the .com site? Sometimes work VPNs switch your location and land you on a different version of the site without you noticing... that would explain why the cart is empty. Honestly, Amazon carts are kinda glitchy when you switch networks. If you want more reliability, try these steps:

  • Move everything from the cart to a Wish List. Carts can be temporary, but lists are hard-coded to your account data and sync way better.
  • Double check the Save for later section at the bottom of the cart page on your work laptop. Items sometimes jump down there.
  • If youre in a rush, use Share-A-Cart. It lets you bundle the whole cart into a single link so you dont have to hunt for that cookie jar again. If you can still see the items at work, just copy the URLs into an email to yourself. Its the most direct way to make sure you dont lose them before the move.
