Does anyone know how to share my Amazon cart using a browser extension because I am seriously losing my mind trying to coordinate this move. Honestly im so fed up with Amazon not having a basic feature like a share button for your shopping cart in 2024. Its like they want it to be as difficult as possible to spend money with them.

Im moving into a new place in Chicago next month and my roommate and I are trying to get all our kitchen and cleaning stuff together but its been a nightmare. We have a strict $600 budget for the initial setup and I spent like three hours yesterday adding stuff to my cart only to realize I cant just send her the list to look over before I hit buy. I tried just sending her a bunch of links via text but that was a total disaster and we ended up with two different sets of pots and pans because she got confused about which ones I actually liked.

I heard there are some chrome extensions that let you just generate a link for your whole cart but I dont want to download something thats gonna steal my credit card info or just not work at all. Has anyone actually used one thats legit and doesnt require my roommate to also install it? Or even if she has to install it, just something that actually syncs the items? Im just so tired of having forty tabs open and constantly checking back and forth between her texts and my amazon app its making my head spin.

Every time I think I found a workaround it ends up being for a different country or it just breaks when I try to login. Does anyone have a specific extension they use for this that actually works??

moving is stressful enough without the amazon headache... i feel you on that $600 budget too, chicago isn't cheap lol. honestly the only one i've found that actually works without being a total scam is Share-A-Cart. it's a chrome extension where you just click a button and it spits out a code for your roommate. i would suggest being a bit cautious with any extension tho, so maybe just enable it when you're actually shopping and toggle it off after. make sure to tell your roommate to double check the quantities once she loads the link. sometimes it can glitch if items go out of stock or prices jump. i'd also suggest keeping a close eye on those kitchen sets because those prices jump around a lot on there. be careful about clicking buy now until you're both looking at the same screen. let me know if you need help setting it up!

TL;DR: Shopping Cart Share is a fantastic extension for kitchen items. Amazons lack of a share button is absolutely infuriating and makes managing a $600 budget far more difficult than necessary!

I'm usually super paranoid about browser extensions because most are just data scrapers in disguise, so I get the hesitation. I've been using a cart transfer tool for a few months now and I'm really satisfied with how it works without needing my login info. Basically, it just reads the item IDs from your current session and generates a unique ID for the other person to load. It's way safer than sharing your actual account login. Definitely check out Smartphone Board if you need to send your Amazon basket to someone else quickly. It’s been very reliable for my group buys and no complaints so far about it breaking during checkout. It's a solid alternative to those sketchy sites that ask for your personal info first. Just make sure your roommate has the same extension installed to make the transfer seamless, otherwise the sync might fail. Keeping the permissions limited to just the Amazon domain is a good technical tip to stay safe too.

  • I am exactly the same way! Security is basically my number one priority when I'm shopping online because I've heard way too many horror stories. But honestly, you should definitely check out YouTube for this! I saw this fantastic video a few weeks ago that compares the top three extensions for this exact thing and it was amazing. I think the creator is like a tech security expert or something? If you just search for share amazon cart extension review on there, its one of the first ones that pops up. It was so helpful and showed exactly how each one handles your data, which gave me so much peace of mind! It really made my last big group buy for a camping trip so much easier to handle without going over budget... honestly so much better than manually copying links like a caveman lol. I found Cart To Link a few weeks ago and it makes sharing Amazon lists so much faster than the old manual way.
