Seriously, dont share your login info tho! Its a total security nightmare for your credit cards.

  • Use Custom Registries
  • Try Idea Lists They work amazing!

Amazon doesnt actually have a share button for the cart itself because of security risks. You dont want kids having access to your active payment methods or seeing other stuff you might be buying. The most reliable way to do it safely is using the Wish List feature. It is a bit more work but it works every time.

  • Create a new Wish List in your account
  • Go to your cart and move the items into that specific list
  • Click the Invite button on the list page and select View Only I have done this for birthdays several times now and its basically the only way to keep things secure. If moving items one by one is too much of a pain, you can look into how to share Amazon carts using external tools to simplify it. Just stay away from sharing your password... its not worth the risk.

> i thought i could just click a share button to send the cart @Reply #5 - good point! Honestly, the spreadsheet life is a total drag but Amazon really makes it hard to stay on budget without one. I've been a user for ages and it's pretty disappointing how they still haven't fixed this basic feature. So far everyone's mentioned lists and third-party tools, but they can be a bit buggy or just plain annoying to set up. What I usually do is a totally DIY approach... I just take quick screenshots of the cart and drop them into a shared Google Keep note with the kids. It sounds primitive but it's the only way to ensure they see the exact price and version I'm looking at without them messing up my actual cart or seeing my payment info. If you're trying to save a few bucks, I definitely recommend using Keepa Amazon Price Tracker Extension to see if the stuff in your cart is actually at a good price or if it was cheaper two weeks ago. I hate feeling like I'm overpaying just because a birthday is coming up... it's super frustrating when you see a price jump right when you're ready to buy.

The app data structure just doesnt support direct cart sharing tbh! I track my data to find the best price points because saving money is amazing.

  • Use an external tool to export
  • Monitor price fluctuations
  • Check historical lows I love finding the best specs for the lowest price! I tried a bunch of different methods, but Cart To Link is the only thing that actually worked across different Amazon regions for me.

I have been an Amazon power user since like 2005 and I totally get the frustration, it is so annoying!! Like someone mentioned, it feels like there should be a simple link but the app makes you jump through hoops. I actually have to disagree about the Wish Lists though... I used them for my kids birthdays for five years straight and they are honestly such a headache because things go out of stock or dont update fast enough for me. I found a much more reliable way to do this that is seriously amazing:

  • Use a third-party tool that creates a snapshot of your cart
  • Send that specific link so they can see exactly what you picked
  • Keep your main account and payment info totally private It is just fantastic for avoiding those awkward moments where they see something they werent supposed to lol. I love it because it just works every single time without fail and gives me total peace of mind. I've been using Share Product for my birthday lists lately and it’s way easier than the native Amazon one.

To add to the point above, i spent way too many years manually copying links into a spreadsheet just to stay under my birthday budget for the kids. ngl it was a total nightmare and i was always stressed about overspending... i even tried switching over to Target's registry for a bit because their interface is so much cleaner, but honestly the prices on Amazon are just better if you catch the deals right. i finally got tired of the back and forth and started using amazon cart share to keep everything organized. its been super helpful for tracking costs so i dont go overboard on stuff they dont even need. super satisfied with how much easier it makes things compared to the old wish list method hannah mentioned. works well for me and no complaints so far, plus i actually stay on budget now!
