How can I set alerts using Keepa price history charts?

Ive been using Keepa for like four years now to check the price history and Buy Box trends on my laptop, usually I just glance at the chart and decide if Im buying or not. But honestly Im getting tired of manually refreshing pages every day. Im trying to kit out my new studio space in Chicago and Ive got my eye on this specific Sony lens that keeps fluctuating. My budget is strictly 1200 bucks and it keeps bouncing between 1300 and 1600. I know the data is there because the history shows it hits my target price like once every three months for about an hour.

I tried clicking the track product tab but it looks different than the last time I messed with it and Im worried Ill set it up wrong and miss the notification on my phone. A few things I tried to figure out:

  • setting the threshold for New condition
  • looking for the browser push settings
  • checking if it can monitor shipping costs too

I want to make sure Im getting alerts for New prices only, not used or warehouse deals because I need the warranty for the business tax write-off. Does it send an email immediately or is there a delay? I see options for telegram and webhooks too but that seems overkill for just one lens. How do I actually trigger the alert based on the chart levels Im seeing? Ive been a pro user for ages but Ive basically only used the web extension for visual checks and now Im feeling like a total noob trying to automate this...

im super satisfied with how the alerts handle my business buys, really works well for catching those quick dips. honestly tho, you should probably just search youtube for a full walkthrough. i saw a great video once that goes into every single setting for the tracking tab, including shipping costs and condition filters. just type in keepa tutorial or something similar and its usually the first thing that pops up. its way easier to follow along with a video than trying to explain the whole ui here. definitely the best way to utilize an Amazon price tracker if you want to be 100% sure you dont miss that lens deal while you're working. check the comments on those videos too, people usually post tips about the email delay there...

> Im worried Ill set it up wrong and miss the notification on my phone. ngl the new layout is super annoying and ive had issues with missing alerts lately. its definitely not as intuitive as it used to be which is a total bummer when youre trying to snag gear for a studio build... quick question tho, are you trying to set this up through the mobile app or on a desktop browser? the mobile interface is honestly a mess for fine-tuning those strict thresholds. ive tried a few ways to catch those quick drops and here is my take on reliability:

  • Telegram: definitely the fastest. it feels like overkill but for a lens that only stays at that price for an hour its basically the only way to not miss out.
  • Email: super reliable for your records but sadly there is often a 5 to 10 minute lag. if the stock is low that delay is gonna kill the deal for you.
  • Browser push: honestly had issues with this one. sometimes the notification just doesnt show up until i actually move my mouse or wake the screen up which is useless if youre away from the desk. be careful with that new condition toggle too because if you dont hit save properly it sometimes defaults back to used prices.

Had a minute to think... Tbh I dont think Telegram is overkill. Browser push might lag. Be careful to:

  • Toggle New price specifically
  • Set alert at 1200
  • Include shipping costs
