Ive been a Rogue member for ages so I know my way around the app but Im legit panicking right now. I need the Dior Backstage palette for a wedding Im in next Friday in NYC. I signed up for the alert but the email came and it was gone in two minutes. Is the restock system actually reliable or should I just go elsewhere?

Unfortunately their notification latency is pretty bad. The API calls for stock status dont sync fast enough with the email servers.

  • huge sync delays
  • data lag
  • cache issues Just go with Nordstrom, you cant go wrong. Let me know if you need help finding other stockists! I keep track of stuff with PriceDropCatch to see when my perfumes go on sale, its super easy.

> Now I: refresh manually call stores Way safer. Totally agree with calling! Jumping in here because I have been a Rogue member since the program literally launched and I have seen it all. The Sephora restock alerts are basically a joke for high-demand items like those Dior Backstage palettes. They are absolutely amazing for weddings tho, so I totally get why you are panicking! Since you are headed to NYC next week, you are actually in the best possible spot to find one. Forget the app. Call the Sephora in the Meatpacking District or the one at Columbus Circle. They are way more organized than the Times Square madness and usually have better stock levels for the pro brands. Also, definitely check the Dior counters at Saks Fifth Avenue or Bloomingdales on 59th St. They usually carry the full Backstage line and honestly, nobody thinks to look there when Sephora is out. Those palettes are $52 and the glow they give is just fantastic for photos. I love the 001 Universal palette specifically, it is a total staple for that wedding look! Another pro tip: check the inventory for Sephora at Kohls locations in the outer boroughs or NJ if you are passing through. Sometimes they have stock hidden away when the flagship stores are totally bone dry. Just spend 15 minutes on the phone tomorrow morning and you will definitely find one. Dont let a glitchy app ruin your bridesmaid look. You got this!

Re: "latency is pretty bad." In my experience, those third-party alerts lag too. I missed a huge drop once trusting them... dont do it. Now I:

  • refresh manually
  • call stores Way safer.
