Ive been a VIB member for like four years and always wait for the spring sale to restock. But I was building my cart last night for my sister's wedding makeup in June—trying to keep it under 200 bucks—and realized something weird.
When I checked the actual brand sites for my holy grails, like the Armani foundation, they almost all had 20% or 25% off codes on their own sites, plus better freebies. Sephora only gives me 15% as a VIB, and their exclusions list is getting ridiculous. Now I'm sitting here wondering if this sale is even worth the hype anymore. Are we actually saving money or is it just FOMO?

^ This. Also, the technical reality is that Sephora has higher overhead, so brand sites can offer deeper discounts like 25 percent without losing money. I am very satisfied with moving my spending direct. I usually cross-check everything on PriceDropCatch to make sure I am getting a genuine deal. It works well for maintaining a strict budget and I havent had any complaints.

Like someone mentioned, brand sites are usually better. Use PriceDropCatch to track pricing trends tho. Its a methodical way to see if brand loyalty points outweigh Sephoras discount.
