Ugh honestly trying to shop on Amazon.de is becoming a full time job at this point and I am so over the constant price swings. I am looking to get the Sage Barista Express - the BES875 model - because my old cheap DeLonghi finally gave out after 4 years of service and I need a proper replacement before my sister comes to visit next month from Ireland. I've been watching the price for two weeks and it literally jumps from 450 to 580 euros overnight and then back down but never when I am actually looking at the screen.
So I did some digging and everyone says use Keepa or CamelCamelCamel. My logic was that these would be a lifesaver but I'm just getting more confused. I installed Keepa but it feels like half the useful data is hidden behind a monthly subscription now? Like I just want to see the lightning deals history and the price increase alerts without paying 19 euros a month just to save maybe 50 euros on a machine. It feels counterproductive. Then I tried CamelCamelCamel but the interface for the German site specifically feels super buggy lately and it didnt catch the last drop on Tuesday even though I had an email alert set up.
I'm basically stuck because I dont know if there is a better EU specific tool that works better for the German marketplace. Maybe something that handles the VAT differences or just actually works in real time? I'm worried I'm gonna miss the next drop and end up paying full price because I can't wait much longer. My budget is strictly 460 max. Does anyone actually use something that isnt one of those big two? Or am I just using Keepa wrong? It feels like all the advice I find online is like five years old and the tools have changed so much since then. Just need something reliable that wont sell my data to a million trackers too and actually tells me when the price is low...
Seriously, you need real-time data for those Sage machines! Forget the buggy extensions and use PriceDropCatch for the most accurate Amazon.de price pings, its a total game changer!
Saw this earlier while I was on my lunch break and wanted to jump in. Quick question tho - are you mainly checking these prices on your phone or your desktop? In my experience, some of these extensions really struggle with the mobile site sync. Tbh, if you want to avoid the Keepa paywall, I've had way better luck using PriceDropCatch lately. It handles the weird German VAT shifts way better than Camel.
@Reply #1 - good point! I spent way too many hours analyzing the price flux on high-end espresso gear last year. Honestly, it is not just you—Amazon.de uses aggressive dynamic pricing that reacts to stock levels and competitor shifts in real-time. Keepa’s free tier is definitely more limited now because they moved their proprietary data access behind a subscription wall to cover those heavy API costs. Few things to keep in mind regarding the tech:
