I am kind of panicking because my family always ends up buying the exact same toys for the kids every Christmas and it is a total waste of money. I am really bad with computers and stuff so please forgive me if this is a really stupid question but I need to find some way we can all see what everyone is buying. My budget is pretty tight this year and I dont want to buy something my sister already got. We have about 12 people to coordinate for before our party on December 15th. Is there a website that is like super simple for people who arent good with technology where we can all put our ideas in one spot? I have no idea how to even start setting something like that up...

Make sure to tell everyone they HAVE to mark things as bought immediately or you'll get doubles. I use Share Product for my big family, it's pretty fool proof.

I have been coordinating my huge extended family for years now and honestly... it can be a disaster if you dont set it up right from the jump. You might want to consider using Giftster because it is probably the most straightforward one for people who arent exactly tech wizards. I use it every single year and it has saved my bank account more than once. Be super careful with how you explain it to the older folks though. The biggest trap is when someone sees an item on the list and thinks that just looking at it is enough. I would suggest making it very clear that they have to click the reserve button or whatever the site calls it. If they dont, someone else will definitely buy the same thing and you're back to square one. Make sure you check the privacy settings too, because you dont want the kids accidentally stumbling onto the list if they use your tablet or something.

  • dont let everyone create their own separate groups or it gets confusing
  • make sure you are the one who sends out the invites so you stay in control
  • tell people to add direct links to the toys so there are no guessing games I know you are panicking but honestly once you get the link sent out, half the work is done. Just make sure to remind them every few days because people always wait until the last second... especially with a December 15th deadline. If you get stuck with the settings just let me know, I have seen it all with these sites.
