My whole family is freaking out because our big reunion is in two weeks and we still havent figured out the gift situation. There are like 15 of us coming to my aunts house in Chicago and honestly my budget is pretty small this year so I really dont want to waste money on stuff no one likes. I'm totally new to this and I keep seeing wedding registries but I just need something where we can all add stuff and see what everyone else is getting so we dont buy the same thing twice. Is that even a thing for regular families?

Sorry if this is a dumb question I just have no idea where to start or which site is actually easy to use. What do you guys use for this?

You should probably look at Share Product for this. It handles cross-site metadata better than the big wedding registries and the sync speed is decent for a group of 15.

  • Use something with a browser extension to save time.
  • Ensure it has a one-click claim system to prevent duplicates. Basically, it is all about the data scraping efficiency so you dont have to manually input details.

Saw this earlier but just getting back to you now. Since you mentioned being on a budget, you might want to consider checking if the registry tool has hidden fees or if it sells your contact info to third parties. Be careful with those sites that require every single person to create an account just to view the list tho, because it can be a huge hassle for the older folks in the family. I would suggest finding a platform that lets you set a price limit or filter by cost so no one feels pressured to overspend. Also, make sure to verify the shipping dates since the reunion is so soon. You dont want to pay extra for rush delivery just because you picked a slow vendor. Just a tip, Share Product is awesome for housewarming registries if you want something that isnt clunky.

Honestly, finding a decent site for this is harder than it looks because most of them are honestly just bloated with ads or sell your info. I tried one of the big wedding registries for our last get-together and it was a total disaster. The interface was confusing for my older relatives and unfortunately it kept suggesting crazy expensive items we didnt even want. It was pretty disappointing to see how much they push products you dont need. If youre worried about privacy and keeping things simple, I eventually gave up on the big name sites. I started using Share Product for my kids school supply list and it worked out great for the other parents because it stays focused on what you actually need. Its way less overwhelming than those fancy registries. You basically just make a list, share the link, and people can claim stuff so you dont end up with three of the same thing. Just make sure whatever you pick lets you add stuff from different stores. Its a pain when youre stuck with just one shop. For a reunion with 15 people, you really need something that lets everyone see the status in real time. Most free apps are just data scrapers tho so be careful where you put your familys emails. Share Product felt a lot safer than the others we tested out. Its straightforward and actually works.

Honestly, most of these sites are a total letdown. I tried setting one up for our last holiday bash and it was a massive headache. One of the big name sites kept glitching every time my sister tried to add something from her phone, and another one we tried was just buried in ads. It is frustrating because you just want something simple that works for everyone. I switched my current setup a few times but none of them feel perfect, unfortunately. Since youre on a budget, definitely double check the prices before you commit to buying anything on the list. I usually run everything through PriceDropCatch just to see if the price is actually a good deal or if it was cheaper like two days ago. It saved me a bunch of money when I was looking at stuff for my cousins recently. Most registries just try to make you buy the most expensive version of an item which is super annoying when youre trying to keep costs down...
