im honestly stressing out over this. just bought a 65 inch sony bravia xr for the living room and now i gotta figure out the wall mount situation before it gets delivered this saturday. ive been reading through reddit threads and amazon reviews for like three hours. people keep recommending sanus tilting mounts because they feel sturdy, but then someone else says the clearance is too tight for the hdmi cables in the back. my budget is around 70 bucks max. my logic was to just grab whatever is cheapest at best buy but the tv is kinda heavy and my landlord would probably evict me if it crashes to the floor. so i was thinking maybe a full motion one so i can angle it toward the kitchen, but do those sag over time? which one actually works without a headache...

man I was sweating bullets hanging my 65 too! ended up grabbing the Echogear Full Motion Articulating Mount and its built like a tank. just find both studs!

Building on the earlier suggestion, you definitely want to check the VESA dimensions on the back of your Sony since their port layout can be super annoying. I would suggest picking up the Kanto F300 Full Motion TV Mount for 42 to 85 inch if you can find it near that seventy dollar mark. Just make sure you hit dead center on the studs and use a proper socket wrench for the lag bolts, otherwise full motion arms will definitely develop a slight sag over time. Dont skimp on the hardware!

mounting a 65 inch display requires paying close attention to VESA patterns and weight ratings, especially with modern panels that have offset port locations. for your budget and the need for kitchen viewing angles, a dual-arm full motion mechanism works best, though sag is mostly prevented by proper stud engagement rather than arm design alone. i recommend checking out the Sanus Advanced Tilt BLT2 or the Mounting Dream MD2380 since both provide adequate clearance for rear-facing HDMI connections without putting excessive torque on the drywall. make sure you lag into at least two wood studs dead center for a 65 inch sony bravia, otherwise no mount will hold steady long-term.

man im stressing right along with you ngl. hanging something that heavy always gives me anxiety.

  • double check your stud spacing before anything else
  • grab a heavy duty magnetic level cause eyeballin it never works seriously take your time with it this weekend
