Is anyone tracking potential Cyber Monday 2025 deals for the Sony CRE-C20 OTC hearing aids? I’ve been eyeing these for a while, especially because of the app customization and discreet design, but the regular price is a bit steep for my budget. I remember seeing decent discounts on the CRE-C10 last year, so I’m wondering if Sony or big retailers (Amazon, Best Buy, Costco, etc.) usually run similar promos on the CRE-C20. Does it make sense to wait specifically for Cyber Monday 2025, and are there any typical discount ranges or places I should keep an eye on?

Yeah it definitely makes sense to wait since 20% off is a big chunk of change. I totally agree with the others that the sale price is basically only one part of the equation though. Ive been using these for a while now and even though Im still kinda a beginner with all the technical settings, I started tracking how they actually hold up after months of daily use. Heres a few tiny things I noticed about the long term ownership:

  • The battery discharge rate stayed pretty stable but you gotta keep the charging contacts really clean
  • You might need to budget for extra replacement tips because they wear out way faster than the manual says
  • I sometimes lose the Bluetooth sync if my phone updates and I dont restart the app Honestly waiting for Cyber Monday is a great idea but just make sure your factoring in the cost of those tiny replacement parts over the next year too!!! Does the app usually tell you when a firmware update is available or do I have to check manually???

Just saw this thread and it really reminds me of my neighbors whole ordeal when he got his Sony CRE-C20 Self-Fitting OTC Hearing Aids a while back. He spent forever tracking the prices, basically making it his full-time job to save as much as possible before he pulled the trigger. He was so happy when he finally got them on sale, but then he realized he had no idea where he put the tiny cleaning tool they came with. He ended up using a literal toothpick to try and clean them after a few weeks of daily wear, and I kid you not, he managed to jam a piece of wood right into the receiver. He spent the next three days trying to fish it out with a pair of tweezers under a magnifying glass while his wife just watched him and laughed. Dont even get me started on the repair bill... by the time he gave up, the cost of the fix was way more than what he saved during the big sale. It was such a mess... but honestly, seeing him hunched over his desk like a watchmaker was pretty hilarious.

Hey, so I’m actually using the CRE-C20s right now and I was in the exact same boat as you – liked the app + discreet look, hated the full price.

Short answer: yes, it *can* make sense to wait for Cyber Monday, but only if your hearing issues aren’t urgent.

I bought mine last year in late November. I didn’t get them on Cyber Monday itself, but in the same promo window: Amazon had them for about 20% off, and Best Buy was within a few bucks of that. I kept a price tracker running (CamelCamelCamel for Amazon) for a month, and the best discounts I saw were:

- Typical sale: ~10–15% off
- Black Friday / Cyber Monday window: ~20–25% off

For me that was enough to push them from “too expensive” to “okay, this is worth it.” I’ve had them about a year now and I’m honestly pretty happy: app works well enough, easy to tweak in noisy places, and they’re low-profile.

If I were you, I’d:
- Watch Amazon, Best Buy, and Sony’s own site starting early November
- Set up a price alert now
- Decide a “buy price” (like $X) and pull the trigger when you see ~20% off or more

If your hearing is already impacting work or relationships, I personally wouldn’t wait an extra year just for maybe another 5–10% off.

Hope this helps!

Hey,

I’ve been watching Sony’s OTC stuff for a few years now (CRE-C10, then C20) and tracking prices is kinda a hobby at this point 😅 so here’s the more “nerdy” angle.

**1. Do Sony / big retailers discount C20 on Cyber Monday?**
From what I’ve seen the pattern is:
- **Modest direct Sony promos** (10–15% off)
- **Better retailer deals** on Amazon/Best Buy, usually stacked with:
- Lightning / limited-time deals
- Generic category coupons ("save X% on health devices")

OTC hearing aids in general don’t crash in price like TVs. You’re usually looking at **10–20% off**, maybe **25% max** if they’re clearing inventory before a refresh.

**2. Tech angle: does waiting make sense?**
C20’s big value is the **app-based tuning** and **open-fit / mild-to-moderate loss** profile. That stuff doesn’t age super fast, but:
- Sony (or others) might push a **C30 / next-gen** by late 2025. If that happens, C20 could see **steeper clearance discounts** outside of just Cyber Monday.
- Firmware/app updates sometimes improve feedback control and presets, so it’s worth checking if any major update is planned around then.

**3. Where to watch (specifically)**
You might want to:
- Set **price alerts** on CamelCamelCamel (Amazon) and Honey
- Check **Best Buy’s “Deal of the Day”** during November
- Look at **HSA/FSA-eligible** retailers – sometimes you effectively “discount” via pre-tax dollars instead of waiting for sales

**4. Alternatives worth comparing technically**
If you mainly care about:
- **App customization + discreet form factor** → Compare with **Jabra Enhance OTC** and **Lexie powered by Bose**. Their apps give more granular EQ presets and sometimes better fine-tuning than Sony in certain bands.
- **Speech-in-noise and directional mics** → Some Jabra/Lexie models have more aggressive directional processing vs the C20’s more basic environment profiles.

**My cautious take**
If your hearing loss is bothering you now, personally I wouldn’t wait a whole year just to maybe save 15–20%. You lose a year of better hearing. But if you’re still in the “research” phase and your hearing issues are mild, then yeah, it *does* make sense to:
- Watch prices through 2025, not just Cyber Monday
- Be ready to pounce on **any 15%+ deal** from a legit retailer with a **good return policy (at least 45–60 days)**

So: yes, Cyber Monday 2025 *might* be good, but I’d treat it as one window in a longer watch period rather than the only target.

Hope this helps! Feel free to ask if you wanna compare C20 vs another specific model more technically.

Honestly, if you’re on the fence mainly because of price, I’d still be careful banking *only* on Cyber Monday. I’d watch for deals, yeah, but also prioritize safety stuff: make sure wherever you buy has an easy return window (at least 30 days) and clear warranty in writing, and avoid sketchy “too cheap” listings on Amazon/marketplaces. With OTC aids, wrong fit or too much gain can actually make things worse, so I’d suggest getting at least a basic hearing test first (even a cheap screening) and then using Cyber Monday just as a bonus if a legit retailer (Sony direct, Best Buy, Costco, Crutchfield, etc.) runs a sale. In other words: wait for a deal, but not at the cost of safe fit, real warranty, and a solid return policy.

Hey,

I’ve been watching OTC hearing aids as a *category* the last few years (Sony, Jabra/Resound, Lexie/Philips, etc.), more like a nerdy price-tracking hobby than anything 😅 so I’ll give you the “market” side of it.

**Background:**
Sony usually discounts, but they’re not the only game in town. Jabra Enhance Plus, Lexie B2 (powered by Bose), and sometimes the Philips OTC models at Costco also see decent cuts around big sales.

**Why it matters:**
If you only watch the CRE‑C20, you might miss a better value. Other brands sometimes do *bigger* percentage drops or bundle extras (batteries, warranty, follow‑up support) that effectively beat a small Sony discount.

**What I’d do:**
- Track **Sony C20 vs Jabra Enhance Plus vs Lexie B2** on Amazon/Best Buy *and* manufacturer sites from Black Friday through Cyber Monday.
- Check **Costco/warehouse clubs** flyers too; they sometimes run quieter promos on Philips/Jabra.
- Aim for at least **20–30% off** or a strong bundle, otherwise I’d be careful about waiting a whole year just for Cyber Monday.

So yeah, waiting for Cyber Monday 2025 might make sense, but I’d treat it as a **brand‑agnostic deal hunt**, not “Sony or nothing.”

Hope this helps!

Hey,

I’m kind of a DIY nerd with OTC stuff (Sony, Jabra, a couple no‑name Amazon specials), and I’ll be honest: the *sale* is only half the story with the CRE‑C20s.

Cyber Monday 2025 will *probably* have some discount, but what’s burned me in the past wasn’t price, it was support. When you go DIY/OTC you’re basically your own hearing specialist. That’s great if you like tweaking things… but it can be frustrating when something sounds off and there’s no pro to fix it.

If you’re leaning DIY, I’d:
- Watch for **bundles**, not just % off – stuff like extra domes, batteries, extended return window. Those helped me more than saving an extra $30.
- Buy from a place with a **long return period** (Amazon holiday window, Best Buy, sometimes direct from Sony). You’ll need time to experiment with the app and different tips.
- Take advantage of **self‑service tools**: online hearing tests (Mimi, etc.), YouTube fitting guides, and keeping notes on which presets work in which environments.

So yeah, waiting for Cyber Monday can make sense, but I’d prioritize: good return policy + DIY flexibility > chasing the lowest one‑day price.

Hope this helps – if you’re comfortable tinkering, OTC can work, just not as plug‑and‑play as the ads make it look.
