I'm in the market for a versatile standard zoom lens for my Sony mirrorless camera. I'm looking for a lens that covers a wide to medium telephoto range, delivers sharp images, and has a fast aperture for low-light situations. I primarily shoot landscapes, portraits, and everyday scenes.

I've been considering the Sony FE 24-70mm f/2.8 GM II and the Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8 Di III RXD G2, but I'm open to other suggestions as well.

What are your experiences with standard zoom lenses for Sony cameras? Which one would you recommend and why?

If you are not concern the price, the best choice is of course the FE 24-70mm f/2.8 GM II lens.

And If you are looking for a sub $1000 standard zoom lens, get the new released Sigma 24-70mm f/2.8 DG DN II Art lens.

For Sony mirrorless cameras, the Sony FE 24-70mm f/2.8 GM II is an outstanding standard zoom lens, known for its sharpness, fast and accurate autofocus, and robust build quality. It's versatile, making it ideal for everything from landscapes to portraits. For a more budget-friendly option, the Sony FE 24-105mm f/4 G OSS offers a great balance of image quality, range, and optical stabilization, suitable for a wide range of photographic needs. Both lenses deliver excellent performance and are highly regarded in the photography community.
