This at the level of these 5 parameters that I would like to have an answer
ugh, i tried doing exactly this with my a6700 and honestly it was a total headache... basically spent all that cash on the Rode Wireless Pro just to have the timecode drift because of how the sony handles the audio track sync in mode 5. it really let me down during a shoot last weekend. if you really want to mess with those menus though, set Preset Timecode to 00:00:00:00, Userbit Preset to all zeroes, Timecode Run to Free Run, Timecode Make to Preset, and Userbit Time Rec to Off. tbh i was pretty disappointed with the reliability of this setup. i actually ended up grabbing a Deity TC-1 Wireless Timecode Generator instead because it just works way better for less money when you catch a sale. it sucks because you expect these features to be plug-and-play but the sony menus are so buried and confusing. that 3.5mm port is also kinda flimsy on the a6700 which ruins the LTC signal if it wiggles even a tiny bit. if you want to save your sanity and some money, just use a cheap physical slate or even a phone app... old school is way more reliable than fighting these internal menus half the time.
In my experience, people mess this up by overthinking the Sony internal menus. If you're using Mode 5, you're recording LTC audio. The cameras internal TC settings like Preset or Free Run actually dont matter at all because the timecode isnt being written to the file metadata... its just a sound on your audio track. Watch out for these common mistakes:
Here are the settings you need to configure on your Sony a6700 for using the Rode Wireless Pro Timecode in Mode 5:
This configuration will allow your camera to record the timecode from the Rode Wireless Pro while capturing audio directly from the transmitter.
