i’m literally leaving for my trip to japan in three weeks and i still havent picked a gimbal for my a6700 and fx30. im super stressed about the weight because i only have like $300-$400 left in my budget for this. i spent hours looking at the dji rs3 mini but then i saw a video saying it might hit the back arm if i use a cage on the fx30 which is a huge dealbreaker for me. then i looked at the crane m3s but honestly it looks too tiny for the fx30 body... i just want something compact that actually works with both without driving me crazy. is there a better option i missed or which of those two is actually better for these specific bodies?

honestly im a bit of a safety first person when it comes to gear so i totally get the stress. you dont want your expensive fx30 hitting the gimbal arm and scratching stuff. i tried the DJI RS 3 Mini 3-Axis Gimbal Stabilizer with a caged setup and yeah... its a tight squeeze. if you use a bigger cage it might actually rub which is super sketchy.

Adding my two cents here... what lenses are you packing for the trip tho? Lens length changes the balance points completely. I have been super satisfied with the FeiyuTech SCORP-C 3-Axis Handheld Gimbal for my caged setups.

  • The underslung handle is built-in, so its great for low angles.
  • Plenty of space for the FX30 cage without hitting the back arm.
  • Very stable motors for that price range.
