Hey everyone! I know 2025 feels like ages away, but I'm already trying to plan my next big camera purchase and the Sony FX30 is high on my list. It's still a pretty significant investment, and I'm hoping to snag a solid deal. Given its current market position and how long it's been out, what are the chances we'll see some really enticing Black Friday deals for the FX30 by November 2025? I'm specifically curious if we might expect significant body-only price drops or perhaps some sweet bundle deals with a lens or accessories. What are your thoughts on potential price drops for the FX30 by Black Friday 2025?

> What are your thoughts on potential price drops for the FX30 by Black Friday 2025? Honestly, by the time late 2025 rolls around, those official retail deals might not even be the best way to save. I've always been more of a DIY guy when it comes to my gear. Last time I was hunting for a cinema-style body, I ended up skipping the holiday rush and grabbed an open-box Sony FX30 that basically just needed a firmware refresh and some basic TLC. Since the FX30 has that internal active cooling fan, it basically acts like a tiny vacuum over long periods. If you're looking at older stock or used deals in 2025, you might find some units that just need a bit of technical cleaning. I learned how to do my own sensor cleaning using a VSGO Sensor Cleaning Kit and even used low-pressure air on the fan vents. It sounds a bit wierd to buy gear that needs work, but it saved me way more than the standard holiday discount.

  • Check the total power-on hours in the menu to see how hard the internal components were pushed
  • Handle your own firmware updates to unlock the newer features like the anamorphic de-squeeze Tbh, DIYing the maintenance is realy the way to go if the 2025 sales are underwhelming... you just have to be careful not to touch the actual sensor glass with anything but a clean swab.

Honestly, I'm pretty conservative when it comes to dropping big money on gear, so I totally get the wait. My approach has always been to ignore those flashy bundles that include a bunch of generic tripods or bags you'll never use. When I was setting up my last rig, I saved a bunch by just buying the body during the holiday sale and then piece-mealing the rest together. The biggest hidden cost is usually the media. I was super worried about reliability, so I skipped the off-brand stuff. I eventually snagged a Sony CEA-G160T 160GB CFexpress Type A on sale, but for a long time I just used a Lexar Professional 2000x 128GB SDXC UHS-II because it was way cheaper and still super reliable for most of the Sony FX30 codecs. Building the rig myself slowly with parts I knew were solid felt a lot safer than just grabbing whatever was in a pre-made bundle. Definitely worth the patience imo... sometimes waiting for the individual parts to go on sale is the real win.

Hey there! Planning for 2025 already is super smart, I totally get that. I actually just picked up an FX30 a few months ago, and honestly, I'm really satisfied. For me, the 4K 120p capability and the S-Cinetone profile right out of the box are amazing at its price point. Works really well for my projects, no complaints!

Given it'll be over three years old by Black Friday 2025, I think there's definitely a good chance for significant body-only drops, maybe a few hundred bucks off. I'm also hoping for some sweet bundle deals with a starter lens, as that would be a really enticing package. Good luck planning!

Hey there! Planning for 2025 already, that's some serious foresight, I totally get that drive to plan ahead. When it comes to the FX30 and Black Friday 2025, my two cents, based on years of watching these cycles, is that you'll definitely see *some* deals, but the extent of those really significant body-only drops is gonna depend on a few key factors.

I've seen this play out with many Sony cameras over time. The FX30 is still a powerhouse and relatively new in the grand scheme of things, so Sony doesn't usually slash prices dramatically unless there's a successor model either announced or heavily rumored. By November 2025, it'll have been out for a good while, so I *think* we'll see some decent movement, maybe a couple hundred bucks off the body-only price at most, just because it's aging a bit. But unless an FX30 Mark II or some other APSC cinema camera competitor seriously heats things up before then, I wouldn't expect a jaw-dropping half-price kind of deal on just the body.

Where I typically see the *real* value on these slightly older but still very capable cameras during Black Friday is in the bundle deals. Retailers love to clear out inventory. So, yeah, I'd seriously keep an eye out for kits that include a decent Sony lens (maybe a G lens or even a Sigma/Tamron if they partner up) or some crucial accessories like extra batteries, an external monitor, or a decent cage. Sometimes those bundles can add up to way more savings than a straight body-only discount, especially if you were planning to buy those accessories anyway.

Also, don't just fixate on Black Friday itself. I've learned that sometimes retailers like B&H or Adorama will have 'open box' or refurbished deals throughout the year that can actually beat Black Friday pricing, especially on a camera like the FX30 that's popular enough to have a good used/refurbished market. Keep an eye on those 'instant savings' deals Sony sometimes runs too, those can pop up randomly. It's always a bit of a waiting game, honestly, but being flexible with *where* you buy and what kind of deal you're looking for (bundle vs. body-only) is key. Good luck with the hunt!
