Building on the earlier suggestion about those bundles, honestly, just be careful. Im a bit late to this thread but I went that route once and ended up with a bunch of junk that basically bottlenecked my performance. Like, they throw in these 'high speed' SD cards that cant even handle the 4:2:2 10-bit recording modes without the camera throwing a fit every few minutes. It was super frustrating during a real shoot when the buffer just gave up because the write speed wasnt actually sustained. Unfortunately, I had issues with the rolling shutter too when I finally got mine. Everyone hypes the cinema line branding but the sensor readout on the FX30 is still pretty slow for fast motion compared to what I expected from the specs. If you find a deal, just make sure you arent getting saddled with some low-tier accessories that make the high-bitrate features useless. Better to just get the body only and invest in proper V90 cards instead. Just my experience tho...
Honestly these Black Friday deals are just a total joke! It drives me crazy that they call it a sale when the price barely moves for such an expensive piece of gear. I was so hyped to grab one but the whole thing feels like a scam when you realize how much more you gotta spend to get a setup that actually works reliably!!
> Any great deals on Sony FX30 during Black Friday 2024? I spent a while looking at these sales too... I'm curious tho, what are you actually planning to film? Like is this for professional client work or more for a personal hobby? I ask because the deal price usually gets eaten up by the media you need. When I first got my Sony FX30 Cinema Line Camera, I tried saving money with some cheap V60 SD cards. Total disaster... I lost half a day of footage because the write speeds couldn't keep up with the 10-bit files. I finally just got a Sony TOUGH CEA-G80T 80GB CFexpress Type A and haven't had a single crash since. It sucks to spend the extra cash, but having a camera that actually records when you press the button is worth more than a $200 discount in the long run.
Any better deals that is more than $200 off?
