so i just got the new sony zv-e10 ii because i want to start making travel videos but honestly im totally lost with all these numbers on lenses. i see people talking about 16mm or 35mm and f-stops and i have no idea what any of that actually means for my footage. the kit lens it came with is fine i guess? but i want something really small that i can just throw in my backpack when i’m walking around tokyo next month. i dont want a huge heavy thing hanging off the camera.

im looking for something that:

  • fits a budget of under $500 if possible
  • is really lightweight (i hate heavy gear)
  • works good for filming my face while i walk and also some food shots

sorry if this is a dumb question but do i need a specific brand or can i use other ones? i heard sigma makes stuff too but idk if it fits the sony mount. i just want something that makes the background look all blurry and pretty without being a giant brick. what should i even be looking for?? maybe like one or two lenses that are easy for a beginner who knows nothing lol...

> i want something really small that i can just throw in my backpack when i’m walking around tokyo I would suggest looking at the Sigma 18-50mm F2.8 DC DN Contemporary. It fits the Sony mount perfectly and is much better than the kit lens for that blurry look. Make sure to check the weight on other options tho, because some get heavy fast. This one is tiny, fits your budget, and handles everything from food shots to vlogging.
