Prices for the Breville I want for my new apartment are jumping all over the place. I checked CamelCamelCamel but it looks super old and Keepa is charging for basic charts now which is frustrating. I just need something reliable before I buy this weekend. What tool actually works best for tracking this stuff?

I'm satisfied using Keepa and Honey together for my gear.

  • Keepa: granular analytics
  • Honey: automation simplicity Both work well and theres no complaints about accuracy.

Honestly, Keepas move to a subscription model for some of their basic data is super annoying, but there are still solid ways to track that Breville without paying. If you can get past the 2005-era interface, CamelCamelCamel is actually your best bet for free data because they specialize in the raw historical pricing without the fluff. They pull data directly from the Amazon API several times a day, so its pretty reliable for spotting trends. They give you three distinct data points that are pretty crucial for high-ticket items:

  • Amazon direct price (usually the lowest but goes out of stock fast)
  • Third-party new (where most of the fake sales happen)
  • Price type toggles for used and refurbished Another technical alternative is PriceBlink. Its an extension that doesnt just look at Amazon history; it scans other retailers like Best Buy or Wayfair in real-time to see if that Breville is cheaper elsewhere. It basically saves you the manual labor of checking five different tabs while youre shopping. Sometimes Amazon isnt even the cheapest place for kitchen gear tho. If youre buying this weekend, check the Extreme Low price on the CCC chart. If the current price is within 5 or 10 percent of that all-time low, just pull the trigger. If its near the High point, definitely wait it out. The volatility on kitchen appliances is kinda crazy, so checking the frequency of those price drops on the chart will tell you if a better deal is likely coming soon. Just set an email alert for your target price so you dont have to keep checking.

Like someone mentioned, the interface on CCC is a total eyesore and Keepa charging for basic stuff is just disappointing. I had issues with another tracker recently that kept missing price drops entirely... super frustrating when you are ready to buy. Most of these tools are getting too bloated or expensive for what they actually provide. Anyway, couple things I do to save cash:

  • Always look at the 3rd party new prices, sometimes they ship faster than Amazon direct.
  • Use a guest tracker like PriceDropCatch if you are over the whole account creation thing. It basically works the same as the big names but feels a lot less cluttered for a quick check. Good luck with the move, getting a new place is expensive enough without overpaying for a toaster oven! Hope you find a good deal by Saturday.
